I’ve only ever seen it used once before.

Trump got into politics when there were a series of rapes in Central Park in New York City. The police, under pressure to find the culprits, coerced a group of young black men into false confessions, in which they described “wilding” where they ran around raping and killing white women. Trump took out full-page newspaper ads calling for them to be executed, and they spent many years in prison before eventually being exonerated when DNA analysis became possible.

So “wilding” is is a reference to wanton rape and attempted murder, and to Trump’s racist smearing of the innocent, and to the perfidy of police.

That was literally the Spanish-language campaign, where they emphasized going after criminals instead of making it clear that the Republican plan was to deport far more people than lack papers.

They’ll pray for you after murdering you.

It’s a win, and worth celebrating. We just need to recognize that it’s a first step along the path, not the destination

Just be aware that they’re planning to return in greater numbers, using Fort Snelling as a base

Call your rep and senators and ask that ICE and the Border Patrol be prosecuted for levying war against the United States. Point out their armament, military-style uniforms, and propensity to shoot people.

I don’t expect success quickly, but it’s in the realm of possibility

If you’re a citizen, you show up. Fast. Short blasts means they’re present. Long ones mean they’re actively trying to grab somebody. So be prepared to follow with a bike or car until they leave the neighborhood on short.

The idea is to create a crowd substantially larger than the ICE snatch team. This tends to deter them from acting. You record them if you can.

There is a fair bit of risk. Its on the table because we need to be finishing the fossil fuels phase out around now, not starting it

Part of the reason you subsidize is that overproduction most years is a feature. You dont want a “not enough food” situation in the lean years, and growing enough to make sure of that guarantees that the farmers go broke.

That said, the specifics of how and what the US subsidies go to are pretty bad: we mostly pay for the creation of cattle feed and motor vehicle fuel.

The general strike on Friday spooked the billionaires — a general strike leading to communist revolution was a viable threat for a long time — and ICE might have made it one again.

You can’t do fascism in a way that makes money on more than a very short-term basis; it’s a system which guarantees stagnation and collapse over a period of years.

This was always the plan. They just weren’t admitting it to themselves.

Elections are run by the states. The President can’t cancel them. Republican-run states can cancel theirs…which means they get no representation in Congress.

If they disregard the election, which they are likely to try, then the United States is effectively dissolved

Open armed conflict is the last step in escalation. There is a lot of civil resistance backed by weapons to prevent massacres thet comes first

It’s not quite that narrow; I deliberately want to include the related politics because those are what will ultimately decide how much warming we get.

All but a handful of House members voted against it already. The few that did are either in districts which voted for Trump or are openly corrupt.

The Democratic Senate leadership appears committed to blocking it now, which they were not until this killing.

The realization that ICE and the Border Patrol exist for the purpose of murdering Democrats might just change their views.

It is, but actually doing it means a shooting war with the US military. That war may well happen even if we dont go around killing ICE, but letting them start it for no reason at all will mean more support on our side, and better odds.

This doesn’t mean you can’t use force in self-defense, or to stop a massacre, but it does mean that just up and killing them isn’t strategically a good move at this time

As a practical matter:

• no gun store here will sell me a suppressor
• nobody will ship me one
• I can buy earplugs in bulk cheaply and easily
• a gun is just as lethal without a suppressor
