I chose an NYPost article for the simple reason that even a conservative rag identified the culprit as a Trump fan. I am aware that the ‘alleged’ in the title and in the article is the typical load of partisan horseshit.

Seeing as Omar is Muslim, my guess is on pig fat. But yeah it is a terrible reason to go to jail, and according to his neighbor, he knew he’d be arrested. He also had a major injury recently, so maybe he figured he’d have better health care in prison, so it’s like robbing a bank for $1

A) he could be pardoned right now, before anything else happens. Except
B) he’s been charged with crimes at the state level, so Walz isn’t going to pardon him and a pardon from the federal level would have no effect
I don’t think this would be the case for it, but I fully expect Trump, before the end of his term, to attempt to pardon state crimes and insist it applies
He’s already issued a pardon to a woman in Colorado who was convicted [only at the state level] of crimes in trying to overturn the 2020 election. Her lawyer is trying that exact argument.
