This makes me wonder, when was the last day that the US actually experienced 0 school shootings?

It’s already been 2 days since the last mass shooting, and the number of school shootings per year never exceed the number of days in a year, so it’s safe to say we still have gaps, but especially in recent years, the numbers are… not looking good.

As in: just 15 days out of all of 2023 would have had no school shootings, if there was only 1 per day.

Do kids go to school every day of the year? I thought they where free on weekends and hollidays.

I acknowledge your point but in fairness the question was when was the last day we experienced no school shootings

It also means if we take out the weekends and holidays from the equation that there were more school shootings than school days in that year.

Then you need to consider unreported school shootings.

If somebody goes on a Sunday and starts shooting, will they know if the bullet holes are new or from the last shooting?

Damn, that’s insane. I live in the UK, so my exposure to this stuff is mostly either a regular throughline of offhanded jokes about Americans and their guns, and occasionally the news becoming dominated by an especially bad shooting. We’re quite separated from the constant reality of it, because so much of it does just fade into the background, to be highlighted only as statistics

What about the Covid period? Kinda hard to have a school shooting when kids aren’t going to school, I’d imagine.

The zoom shootings were just sort of embarrassing for everyone involved, so they stopped doing them.

I believe in reasonable background checks and waiting periods to purchase and install doors. Anyone with a improperly installed door should be held criminally liable.

Close, but that’s only one part of the problem. You’re forgetting that anybody can just open a door. The government should set an age limit, create an aptitude test and start issuing dooring licenses.

Propaganda here boys…no way cops would enter a school under attack as shown in photo.

They just tape it off and hang out normally.

FYI: A “school shooting” is anytime a gun is discharged on school grounds. If I go shoot the soccer field on a Saturday afternoon, that counts.

And the San Francisco shooting? That was one kid purposefully going after another. It was a fight with a gun involved, not some random kid shooting the place up.

All these idiots freaking out over this fact about the United States don’t realize it’s also counting people bringing their guns to the schools on Saturday afternoons to shoot into soccer field.

Only me and you are the smart ones.
