zabil@lemmy.worldtoSNOOcalypse - document, discuss, and promote the downfall of Reddit.@lemmy.ml•Joey for reddit stopped working
2·3 years agoI gave up but have gone back for the niche subs. In particular there is a fairly active and funny one for rugby union that just doesn’t exist elsewhere unfortunately
zabil@lemmy.worldtoSNOOcalypse - document, discuss, and promote the downfall of Reddit.@lemmy.ml•Joey for reddit stopped working
3·3 years agoBoost still works. You need to make yourself a mod - to do that make a subreddit on desktop. There is a Vanced patch as well which I have used, but as far as I am aware it’s not required.

Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit discontinues coins and awards after switching to paid APIEnglish
45·3 years agoI cannot work out what the benefit is to them of doing this.
Someone somewhere has paid for those awards. Is it because you can get gifted premium and not pay for it yourself?
It’s like the company had a collective aneurysm.

105·3 years agoIf there is anything that’s good about threads; it’s what it’s doing to Musk and Twitter.
Having said that it’s not a place I’m ever planning on venturing into.
All comments are 2 years old as well.
There must have been a glitch. In time. 2 years have passed since we opened the comment page.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What if a Reddit admin participated here?
2·3 years agoI’m not sure that they would be able to cope to be honest. The power that being an admin, small as it may be, is abused systemically in that organisation. Not sure what they would do if they couldn’t mute/ban anyone and everyone around them.
deleted by creator
I had an active 11 year old account that I deleted.
The final straw for me was an interaction with a ham fisted admin these last few days. It really and honestly is a toxic environment there, and the admins are following the lead from Spez, so it’s deeply embedded into the culture.
Thank you for this.
How does one go about finding communities from other instances and connect with them?

0·3 years agoI have only signed up today, so this may be something I’m doing on my end. But on the home screen, if I sort by “All”, as opposed to “subscribed” or “local”, after about a minute posts start streaming down the page at a very quick pace. It looks like when people comment on discord. I have tested this on both my phone and pc, and they both do it in my browser (firefox each time). Unfortunatley I cannot screenshot it, since that would just be a static image, and I don’t know how to record my screen.

It’s a fantastic resource on Reddit. Much like how bacon keeps me from going full vegetarian, UK personal finance keeps me on Reddit.

1·3 years agoIn fairness I didn’t make that point, someone else did.
I still agree with the OP though.

Is it really childish to quote what someone else said and question it? Seems like quite an overreaction on your behalf to be honest.
