For instance, tarrifs on imported goods raising the price of food packaging, rising fuel costs that have almost doubled the freight cost in just the last 12 months and also most importantly, the blatant gouging that the 4 food producing conglomerates have been perpetuating on consumers since 2022.
1 company makes all the crackers, all the crackers are expensive. All the chicken produced goes through 2 companies, what incentive do they ever have to lower prices again. Just double the cost, sell half as much but also cut production cost in half and suddenly you are making a bigger profit than before. Poor people can’t afford to buy anything you make anymore?
