  • Okay — I’ll go — but honesty I thought someone would appreciate the puzzle.

In the late seventies there was a religious movement of the “Born Again” Christians. Huge billboards proclaimed: I FOUND IT.

It meant the love of Christ.

This fellow’s shirt mocks that by explaining he had found the then difficult for some people to find clitoris — so, he turned something religious into something about finger banging.

    Nothing to do with buttholes.

  • This is a photo of a genuine shirt from the about 1977.

    It was extraordinarily offensive.

So it is MAGA because it is indecent.

I am still waiting for anyone to come close to figuring out the target of its critique.

I will give a hint: if someone else had actually been there they might say it critiques MAGA. I’m saying it’s like MAGA more because it is an offensive violation of cultural norms.

None of the guesses as to why the finger stinks are correct in the threads. They also have no idea what he found.

You’ll forgive me for a moment of reveling in pleasure at all the wrong answers. It’s like watching anthropologists feel around in the darkness and bring their own cultural perspectives to a riddle they simply can’t grasp yet.

  • Our family has been enjoying the new Ken Burns documentary: American Revolution.

It’s engaged me. Reminded me that my patriotic sacrifice, should it come to that, is not in support of US imperialism, or oppression, or all those other ugly holes we succumbed to, but for the then unique vision of a world where democracy matters. So… flawed as it is… I want to support the US Constitution.

And left leaning as I am… I don’t see much good in having everything crumble so that a handful of progressives can try to set it all aright.

I just want to stand strong and demand that human beings in the US all receive due process and cannot be murdered or blinded in the streets by uniformed thugs.

Do I share a little bit of disillusion? More than a little. I’m surprised I’m out of bed and cleaning the kitchen.

It’s one foot in front of the other for all of us.

But when ICE kills someone in my metropolis… I hope to be there when they learn how we feel about that. I have protested enough with my people here that I know they are not all just talk. They are ready.

  • After ICE blinded another protester, I spent this morning researching protective eye gear that’s light weight, effective, and comfortable to wear all day.

It sounds now like we have more in common than we don’t. I shouldn’t act like a dick at Lemmy.

We are not one another’s enemy. We know who is our enemy. We must not forget this.
