So someone had claude write a C compiler in rust, which doesn’t work, because it can’t find the C standard libraries.
Would be interesting to read how claude was prompted to do this.
I know this might not be an option for you, but I have used Home Assistant for this purpose. Simply install a HA instance and enroll both of your handsets with the companion app.
The challenge with apps like this is, that they need some kind of server by definition.

1·2 months agoOh. I don’t doubt that, I was taking the shadow fleet as a commercial fleet like the Russian one is. I have zero doubt about all non landlocked countries using civilian registered vessels for at least signal intelligence and special operations forces.

20·2 months agoThere is a reason why western countries care about maintaining maritime law and it is to maintain freedom of navigation for themselves.
This is an interesting but very long read.
It’s also very relevant to right-to-repair, but approaches it from an anti-circumvention angle.

8·2 months agoWhere I come from we don’t have addresses on IDs - you’d have to replace them any time you move.
Then I got in (mild) trouble with German police because i didn’t. I had honestly never seen one that had it.
I have used hetzner, they are not perfect but at least they are European and have been correcting errors in judgement they have made regarding service suspensions.

The Culture is the absolute best case scenario for humanity. It is my comfort reading for this reason.
