Because at the time of the general election all other options left of center right are effectively removed with no support from the democratic party. They basically haven’t even pretended to have a democratic primary since Obama in 2008, instead choosing to coronate whoever the super delegates choose, which has worked true wonders for the party /s. They’re already starting the motions to do this again with their next center right candidate in Newsom.

I think you need more data to know if there is a problem, lowered SAT score average may be that more people are attempting the SAT that previously wouldn’t, which in and of itself isn’t an issue.

If I had to hazard a guess with only the data presented, both stats are likely being influenced by increased pressure to get a high school diploma & college degree, as higher percentages of job requirements list at least the former, but a lot of times list college degree when it may not be needed. So more people try to get into college by taking the SAT.

They might not this election, but these gerrymandering attempts are more long lasting then one election. US voters (speaking as one) seem to have a terminal case of long term memory loss. So the next election everyone that normally votes republican but is disgusted by trump will go back to voting on their normal party lines, the new districts will stay in place, net them the extra seats and we get further racheted to the right.

I’d imagine it depends a lot on the festival. I’ve never been to anime festivals but several comic & boardgame conventions, if you know people going to hang out with, or you otherwise like massive social situations it can be some great fun. If you don’t and don’t like crowds it can be a bit daunting and feel like you’re basically paying entry to walk through vendors and buy stuff.

It seems this is the new texas republican strategy, ban things that are not a problem in the first place, if you see the propositions that were on their ballot this election you’ll see this in effect with their new targeted group, prop 16, which bans non-citizens from voting in the state…which they already can’t do and they have no evidence of them doing.

I imagine it’s mostly to scare their base to show up to election days so that they can get their other measures passed, which were mostly regressive tax bans & reforms that mostly help the wealthy.
