Cis and straight are… Entirely different axes, though. How would you describe someone who is cis and gay, or trans and straight while applying “straight” to both sexual orientation and gender identity?

Yep! He didn’t target Wayfinders specifically, just wanted to get out of publishing, but effectively left Wayfinders without any online infrastructure and took most/all the early access funding with them. I loved DE for how they manage WF, but that was not it. And it’s even more sour now that’s pretending like he didn’t do it.

This is a bit frustrating to hear from him considering this is exactly what he did with Wayfinders when he became CEO.

It’s been a hot minute, and I don’t particularly want to spend too much time on it, but I think season 5 episode 1 was the final straw with how they handle Chinese culture.

The show Psych used to be a favorite of mine. When rewatching it recently, there’s a string of episodes a few seasons in that are just straight up all racial stereotypes
I would put all my focus in making my games finally, instead of just some evenings

Honestly, valid until we get something to actually show they’re turning it around. I am cautiously optimistic given how PCT looks as a new job that I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt for now, but I can see why one wouldn’t.

I mean… It’s not much, considering the time spans involved, but at least Yoshi P is now on record in an interview talking about their plans to move away from the current job design ethos. If they do well with the fights, and I end up liking PCT at least, I’m down.

Same deal, but FFXIV for me, DawnTrail is kookin’ juicy.

I finally got an ultimate clear in Final Fantasy 14, after seeing the end of two separate fights right before the groups I was running them with went on break. For reference, Ultimates are the big end game raids that take upwards of 30+ hours of practice at the low end to get through
I recently switched from Goodreads to Storygraph, and have ended up tracking my reading a lot more reliably since the change.

Apothecary Diaries and Final Fantasy 14… Checks out, Maomao could easily be an alchemist.
For me it’s Answers from FFXIV
Such a heartfelt moment that I tear up as soon as I hear the melody
Working through Perdido Street Station on my new Kobo. I understand the critiques on pacing, and spending too much time on world building as now, 400 pages in, races, sections of the city, creatures, and cultures are still being introduced. But it has been an enjoyable ride so far, especially with one of the main PoVs being one of my favorite tropes of just “scientist doing science”

I’m certainly liking it so far. I’m not far in yet, though.

Finished reading The Black Gryphon with my sibling. Was surprisingly progressive for when it was written, and although the non pov characters were very cardboard, it was a fun read.
Listening to Good Omens finally. I absolutely love the comedic writing, and about half the cast. The actual plot bites me to tears so I’ve had trouble focusing on it, but weirdly still enjoying it.
Started Perdido Street Station. New Crobuzon feels like he took the Cantina scene in star wars and expanded it to an entire city. And I love that the PoVs so far are an artist and a scientist just doing their thing.
I mean, it is objectively more realistic, more detailed, handles lighting more naturally. But it’s also not the character the artist designed anymore, and is just modified at the last stage of rendering to be a generic llm ai character, by your gfx card. I don’t think we need our gfx cards deciding whether or not the protagonist is wearing red lipstick and rouge.
