  • I recently learned that the Pacers’ slogan that sounds like “Yessirs” is actually “Yes, 'Cers” (as in [Pa]cers).

It feels like the Raptors keep playing the same teams over and over again this season. The Raptors were so hard to watch the last 2 seasons, but this season has been incredible so far, so fun and they’re winning more games than anyone thought they would

  • I’ll answer what I can, maybe others can fill in the rest. I know we have an Als fan on here. The Als play at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, which is owned by McGill. I think it’s close to but not directly on/in the campus - but I’m not sure about that. The Als success given their record was partly due to the East (ie, Argos and Redblacks) being really weak this year. The Bombers crossed over and lost to the Als in the Eastern Semi-Finals

  • Like all scoring plays, Nield’s touchdown was reviewed by the CFL Command Centre in Toronto to determine whether the correct call was made on the field. That review lasted an unusually long time before the major was confirmed. The replay official is only able to overturn a call if it is “clear and obvious” that an error has taken place.

Bold above is mine. I didn’t know that the burden of proof is so high, but that makes the video review overturn similar to other sports, like baseball and basketball. However, in this case, the video review is always done on a scoring play, which makes one question why the automatic review (that’s probably more likely to get it right - multiple angles, not in real time) should be biased by an inferior on-the-field call. Idk what I’d prefer, just thinking about it though…
