There’s an uptick in active and total users. It’s not much, around +400 accounts, but a clear deviation from the line prior to the tiktok overtake.

That markdown doesn’t work well for community links. Sadly the Voyager app does wrap community links in markdown too, which deactivates the cross-instance-linking that was supposed to be achieved with this link format.

The explore tab is in essence a moderated, quality-filtered federated timeline. Its purpose is to help you discover other people and expand your visibility, but without being a vector for spam and abuse.
Mastodon has an algorithm in their official app. The Explore feed shows you posts that are popular among people you follow and interact with.
Loops has a For You Page algorithm.
There are algorithms on the fediverse. They are rare, but they do exist.

It wasn’t intentional. One of the authors wrote on Mastodon that there’s “something wrong with the text layers” and the Media Lab is working on it.
It seems like they outsourced the pdf creation to someone who doesn’t know how to properly create pdf’s or the wrong version got published, which I’m suspecting because the title of the pdf is “layout draft 2024-12-16”.

PeerTube is using Webtorrent to distribute the load to all viewers that currently watch the video. And if you host a PeerTube instance you can manually mirror videos on your instance that are hosted on other PeerTube instances.
So they import everything from overseas!?
