7 months agoI don’t know about ViolentMonkey (sounds like a TamperMonkey variant?) but I use Stylus and yes it does the same things as TamperMonkey.

I suspect they have been tweaking the front page algorithms to bury niche posts. Niche subs that I already follow don’t seem to have changed, but r/popular and r/all have definitely lost their spark.
Oh that is really, really good. Filing it away.

I recommend reading The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker. It’s available for free at archive.org. It describes how predators work and how regular people can stay safe from them.

I bought one of these and did not sleep all night even though I’m a regular coffee drinker and I’m convinced it’s some hypercaffeinated situation like the Panera drinks. They used to be regular iced coffee. Not buying them again.
2·2 years agoIt’s awful. I actually didn’t mind new Reddit. But they switched my account to new new Reddit and I changed my bookmarks to go to old Reddit. I’ll try to stay for as long as there are good discussions but this cursed design is bursting with “know-nothing middle manager” energy.
It’s not even loading for me (Vivaldi on Android). I ran it through Textized. It’s on the Verge alright… verge of unreadability 🙄
Sounds like she’s all over the place, which is not unusual at her age (and regardless of gender). 23 is only the very beginning of breaking out of whatever kind of toxicity a person grew up in and I could hazard a few guesses from the part about chasing jerks. It’s hard when you have a good time and you can see the possibilities for the relationship but they’re out of reach. You have to work with who she is and what you have right now though. You have to work with reality.
I get it about the overthinking. But she doesn’t know what she wants so she doesn’t have any signals or messages to interpret. It’s all static and noise.
I’d recommend gently detaching yourself from her, you might not need to stop being friends but do stop being the kind of friends that go inside each others’ places (so she doesn’t steal your hoodies), or get drunk around each other. Yes she may not like this and may not want to be friends anymore and you may also lose the rest of the friend group. It sucks, it happens, but good thing is there are lots more cool people in the world.
