Thats awesome.
Btw piefed has “low bandwidth mode” that works well with links2. I wonder if old.lemmy would work well with links2?

Its amazing how far you can go with a somewhat simple setup. You can go really cheap with a Baofeng.

20·21 hours agoJust FYI at the speed meshtastic/core is talking about, it would be very slow. Like dialup would look fast.
But its a fun hobby! Take a look over at !meshtastic@mander.xyz for anyone interested. Meshtastic (and meshcore) are also SUUUPER alpha so dont expect anything polished.

8·2 days agoYeah and reddit will remove links to lemmy/piefed/etc… on its platform. I dont think they should be the example some people want.
I personally think reddit is the designated place the elite want the left leaning individuals to go to. Its much easier to track literally all up/downvotes, they ditched their old interface and now you get sponsored links, etc…etc… Theres a lot of gaslighting there. At least here, we can see the mod actions and not get “shadowbanned”.

10·4 days agoI can confirm.
On piefed, you can usually see if new accounts are posting given a little wheel icon on their account. It helps making visible the account(s) are flooding the community.
Plus if you have a single user instance you can easily look at the logs and find the accounts again.

242·4 days agoI tried bringing this up and got downvoted pretty hard last week. We have accounts that will post a huge amount, slam servers all in one go, then disappear. Its causing issues with federation. Especially with smaller instances.
I like comics and prior to say a couple of months ago, it was a great conmunity.

4·5 days agoIve had unrelated subreddits not allow lemmy without a message before. This is the first time I actually got a message so its probably a subreddit rule.
Just getting the word out without getting banned it a trial and a half.

Agreed. Im tired after work. Debian/yunohost is good enough.
At work its hundreds of docker containers but all ci/cd takes care of that.
