nginx 100% isn’t the problem, and you’re right on all counts. I’ll also add that I’ve seen reports that Lemmy has some pretty poorly optimized SQL queries.
They need to add support for a message broker system like RabbitMQ. That way their poor postgres instance stops being the bottleneck.
kbin and lemmy federate with each other. You only need one account and you can view posts from any instance*
- Except for those that choose to defederate, like beehaw. But that’s their choice to make a walled-off community.

17·3 years agoFuck, this is how I find out Mullvad is dropping support for port forwarding.
I already have a protonmail account, guess I’ll get the VPN too now. My entire setup relies on using wireguard on the firewall level, so another solution like i2p won’t work
Traefik configuration is a bit verbose at times, but middlewares are awesome and you can pry them from my cold dead hands
I love ARPGs for this. Path of Exile and Last Epoch both have a highly repeatable endgame where you can just put on your media and blast maps/monoliths mindlessly for a few hours

The alternative is 0%, because i just won’t eat out anymore
