Do they know that football involves a bunch of men grabbing each other?
Ah did not know that. Thanks!
I might feel bad about waking up my cat, if he didn’t do the same to me in the middle of the night.

“Florida Man” refers to the headlines of articles that are often about someone doing something excessively stupid.

I never really understood Riker’s objection here. In general I agree with his point, but his objection felt shoehorned into the episode. This wasn’t about an M5 style computer taking over everything. Just helm and thrusters for a bit. And what choice did they have?
The Caps TV network picked up the game that was at Capital One last week. It was fun to watch. We would have gone, but my wife had other commitments.
Hopefully we get more PWHL games, maybe even a team! We go to a few Caps games each year, and we’d be interested in PWHL tickets too.

“Marco Rubio, we salute you. You’re the ultimate Florida Man.”
This was intended to be a compliment? “Florida man” usually isn’t.

I’m interested in buying an EV.
I generally like Honda, but knowing it’s based on GM - a brand I’ve had multiple issues with - makes me really nervous. Even if the issues are covered under warranty, I don’t want the hassle.
I’m also looking at Ford and Hyundai. I normally wouldn’t really consider either brand, but most of their issues tend to be engines and transmissions, neither of which apply to EVs.
Unfortunately EVs seem to be on the way out now, rather than getting improvements…
I often have a work-before-play mindset, for example, feeling like I must do the dishes before going on a bike ride.
But if I would be late meeting the friends I’m riding with, I can let the dishes wait. They’ll still be there, and no harm is done. Why should I feel guilty about letting them sit for a few more hours? I don’t know, but I still sometimes do.
In Calvin’s place, playing while it’s still light out makes sense. It’s much harder and colder to play at night in the dark. Do the homework when it’s dark. The only risk is that he doesn’t leave enough time to finish the homework.

I’ve been using Linux almost exclusively at home since the late 1990s.
I have very few issues with it. I think Debian’s tendency to break my Nvidia drivers on my gaming machine is probably the worst, but that’s just a matter of running the installer again. It’s not really Debian’s fault, it’s just updating the kernel.
I wish WINE would let me use Bluetooth or even ANT+ connections to my smart bicycle trainer, but connecting via the phone works quite well most of the time (unless my wife starts the car and it grabs my Bluetooth phone connection). So that is my biggest wish. Well actually I wish Zwift ran natively on Linux. That’d be even better.
I’ve got one that’s into that. I love that cat, but there are moments…
For full realism, it should include the part where he liquids into the helicopter.

I assume people are buying Ryanair tickets because they don’t want to spend any more money than absolutely necessary. So he’s probably right about the low rate of purchasers.
Of course Elon would be upset that the business case doesn’t work for someone.

I think you’re probably right. The video I watched had some very odd results from Arizona, like people in very blue cities voting for Trump, then for Democrats down the ballot. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to vote that way, unless you really hate Kamala, but even that seems farfetched as an explanation for a lot of people voting that way.
Unfortunately the party in power doesn’t want to investigate the anomalies. And Democrats don’t want to sound like Trump did after the 2020 election, with good reason, and it wouldn’t do any good anyway, because the Republicans are happy with the results of the election. I understand why they didn’t pursue it, even though I wish someone would. If the Republicans truly cared about the US (and didn’t rig the election), they would investigate.
The only reason I think they might not have rigged it is that, if you were smart enough to pull off rigging it, why in the world would you tell Trump?

This was Family Guy’s best joke.
(I’m not a huge fan of the show, they have some great jokes, like this one, but overall I just don’t find it that funny.)

LOL I didn’t mention NuTrek. Enterprise, for example, had a LOT of people screaming about how bad it was. It’s when I gave up on the Trek fandom - I was tired of the negativity. Like this.

There’s a targeted campaign against every new Trek series.

Putin probably has to wait to stop laughing before he can do anything.
The sheer absurdity of the dog-cat relations in The Far Side is amazing. Always love it.
