This is vet much the case for me atlest. I’ve posted/commented more in the last 2 or 3 days here than i did the the last 2-3 months on reddit.

For me it’s like moving to a small town. Instead of a whole scene into each if my weird interests it’s just a few cool people. But thats just a function of population.

Seriously though, I think the best defence againt that is decentralization. It’s not just ok for this to not be THE reddit sucessor. It’s a positive good. Even more so now that I’ve realized you can follow most activitypub based things like mastodon from most of the others. Not only are none of the successors in completion, they’re in symbiosis.

As a reddit refugee the image and video viewer has been the only speedbump for me. That is other than not being hooked up to a firehose of content, but i feel that will come in time.

I’m happy to have influxed all over. Its been both welcoming and chill.

Feels like this might be the fediverse flavor that sticks with me. I tried mastodon and diaspora, but they didn’t stick. Didn’t help that I hated Twitter and Facebook.
