On my old phone i used Florisboard, it was pretty good and it’s FOSS as well.
These days I use the samsung keyboard as I recently switched to a samsung device. The keyboard customizations are really awesome, if you have KeysCafe module installed. Not sure how privacy friendly it is tho.

Technology@lemmy.world•Lemmy and Kbin: The Best Reddit Alternatives?English
8·3 years agoI have not used kbin yet. Is there any feature that really makes it worth using over Lemmy ? I’m curious as I want to try it out sometime.
P.S - I use Lemmy through wefwef

Technology@lemmy.world•Young Koreans favor iPhones over Samsung Galaxy: surveyEnglish
2·3 years ago2 months ago I bought a regular samsung galaxy s23 and it’s been running great so far. I expected MIUI levels of bloat, but surprisingly it is not that bad.
I had to disable a few samsung apps and for the most part, the phone stays out of my way and lets me do whatever i want.
I wish the s23 lineup gets good custom rom support. Would love to run a lean LineageOS / any AOSP based rom with MicroG on this phone.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google raising price of YouTube Premium to $13.99 per monthEnglish
2·3 years agoI’m not an iOS user, but I have seen something like revanced which can be sideloaded.
The app was called uYou+ or something, i don’t reacall the actual name.
You can go to their official website and download it - https://f-droid.org/
Personally I prefer to use fdroid through Droid-ify.
Opensuse is great. Yast was more useful than I initially thought.
On a different note - For people who like tinkering, nixos can also be a great option, it also allows rollbacks but doesn’t use BTRFS snapshots out of the box like opensuse.

Technology@lemmy.world•One of Reddit’s biggest communities is suggesting users move to DiscordEnglish
5·3 years agoI don’t understand why moving to discord is a thing when we have Lemmy serving the exact same purpose as reddit but even better.

Technology@lemmy.world•Apple introduces offline Maps—but how does it compare with Google Maps?English
4·3 years agoCheck if ‘organic maps’ app is available on ios. Thats what i use on android.
I wish Graphene also supported other devices apart from Pixels.
I’m curious how software can last shorter. Could you maybe give me an example ?
The only way i can think of is companies reducing software support.
It’s possible that Apple may do this, but for android - it’d just result in a thriving community for Custom ROMs.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Confused on what fediverse apps to useEnglish
8·3 years agoOkay. So although all the apps support activitypub - only similar apps can replace each other ( like mastodon with calckey)
Apps with different feature sets will have to remain seperate, but will allow following users from different apps (lemmy and mastodon for instance).
Basically there is no single app that can do everything (as of now)
This is idea that i get after reading through the comments. Please correct me if i’m wrong

Technology@lemmy.world•For this who aren’t aware, Memmy for lemmy is now available in the app store [iOS]English
1·3 years agoI’m using an app called ‘Liftoff for lemmy’. It has been good so far. I’m not sure if it has all the features found in infinity tho.

If you feel like checking out something different, there’s Kvaesitso or maybe mLauncher.
