AI is pretty great imo

Flattish rocks, as big as you can get into the pot. Enough to mostly cover up the dirt. That keeps my cats out of the flower pots.

When I used to work in the computer lab at school, this big florescent lit room, after a couple hours I started to stink. I could smell myself. I was told it’s because the flickering florescents do something to my glands or metabolism or something.

it’s often taken as a substitute for real experience.

corpo social everything. food, housing, lifestyle. in the “developed areas” anyway.

Hmm. maybe. I don’t really distinguish.

fair enough. consider my assertion withdrawn.

ok fine.

By reading I mean the common thing : focusing your attention upon the words on the page and the thoughts they evoke in your mind and so on. The more intensely and more prolongedly you do it, the more intense the negative effects.

It gets you stuck in your head. You tend to stay there. Do it everyday and being stuck in your head becomes normal life for you and you forget there was anything else.

living in cities

it intensifies the urge to conform and dulls the senses. it presses on you.

nooooooo. i love my rat. it squeaks to me. it flickers happy dreams into my eyes

Every powerful technology brings with it the risk of atrophy. Cars, processed foods, language.

Definitely. The affects of advertising sticks for generations. Nazi is basically a very successful advertising campaign for motivating traumatized Germans. The “Just Say No” campaign created an entire generation with an irrational hatred of drugs. I still remember with perfect clarity tv advertising slogans from when I was a kid. We are basically dropping atomic meme-bombs on ourselves.

Yes, I think that human imagination is bad. you got me

The kind of reading where you focus your attention for a long time on texts and thoughts.

no, this comment did not get removed. only top level ones, only unpopular ones

okay I didn’t know that about piefed. I suppose the other guys who got removed were on piefed too.

but it’s suspiciously only top level comments that got removed. and only spicey unpopular ones.

but yes, stranger coincidences have happened. I will abridge statement.

Yes, reading has good things about it and also bad things about it. That’s something that happens sometimes.

And yes, my opinion differs from the popular one, not to mention 100 years of pro-reading propaganda. That is also something that happens sometimes. sometimes people have ideas that conflict with the ideas of everyone else. if they make a bunch of money we call them geniuses, if they don’t then we call them crazy.

yes. and there are half a dozen others by other people too.

It’s a variant of the domination urge, I think. Getting offended turns the whole of culture into a gun in your hand. Then you shoot your opponent. Then you win.

the moderator removed my reply. do you believe that shit?
