5·3 years agoYes, but the common user would just register on the most popular instance. It will take a lot of effort to change that mindset.
Exactly the reason why Lemmy at scale will never work, since most people won’t run their own instance.
People really need to stop dogpiling on the most popular instances and instead spread themselves out.
