As a sys admin with a lot of experience, I am still unsure how to maintain and update my lemmy instance. So I am revisiting again, but it seems like we need work on the lemmy docker containers and possibly docker-compose.

Absolutely. I use ipv6 so I can directly reach all my servers. For public facing things I put it on an ipv4 address but for my own internal stuff, ipv6.

I guess my problem is that it is a bit too real… humanity destroying itself with poor decisions and zealotry feels too much like life right now.

Yeah, on servers low swap and an alert on available ram so I know if things are getting snurgly.
