Jet boils are not compact. They are awesome, just not great if you are a gram counter. Probably exactly what this guy would want though as it sounds like he is car camping.

I just purchased this. I’m excited to read it but it’s a few books down on the pile yet. I purchased the new translation from Bill Johnston.

Second the expanse. I’m on the second book of the series and already bought the next two from the used book store. Very good and easy reading.

Most smart watches go too far but I love my Garmin Instinct. It feels like a modern digital. Just enough cool tools and features but still black and white. With the o2 sensor on it lasts nearly two weeks, a month with it off, before it needs charging. I can track hikes and bikes. Gives me exact coordinates with a push of a button and no subscription or additional monthly fees to use it. If I could afford a mechanical watch for the price I paid for my Garmin ($130 used) maybe I’d own one.

I always hear about Lidl and Aldi just Google maped a Lidl store. Closest one is over 1300 miles away. Sad days. Aldi is a lot closer though. Only 650 miles to an Aldi. La sigh.
