Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is a specific part of a video game that made you quit playing that game?
16·1 day agoLife is Strange
The entire premise is that the protagonist can turn back time, and make different decisions.
Except for cut-scenes. As soon as a cut-scene hits, suddenly its “You aren’t able to rewind time right now”, with no narrative explanation. Like, I get that you didn’t want to program that part, but the entire premise is about rewinding time, to try different decisions. Now I’m stuck having made an arbitrary decision, because I thought I was going to be able to go back and pick differently.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a book or film that you're glad you experienced, but would never recommend?
2·1 day agoI recently watched https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salò%2C_or_the_120_Days_of_Sodom
It was… interesting, but going for more “shock”, than actual substance.

2·1 day agoIt’s a fun movie, but it’s only for a selective taste. It’s also has a lot of very problematic scenes.

Programming@programming.dev•Is Vibe Coding the Norm Now? [rant/vent/advice welcome]
3·1 day agoAlthough I agree with you…
That’s how the vast majority of software has been built for the past couple of decades. LLM’s aren’t different in that regard, just faster.

57·1 day agoI do enjoy programming, but I prefer “getting stuff done”. While I enjoy programming, I’d rather just get it done and move on. I like the results of having programmed.
Productivity is my problem, because I build stuff for myself, not just for my boss.

1·1 day agoI literally posted articles explaining how he did the things you listed. I’m not sure how to make that any more clear.
(Also, I’m not a liberal.)
Then why are you supporting them, and fighting against people who are accurately pointing out that they are monsters?
You are free to view it that way, but it would be unreasonable to claim that is the only way to view it in light of the many differences I pointed out.
Yes, I am able to view it correctly. But it is not unreasonable, considering that you didn’t really highlight differences. You highlighted things that Biden also very much did, as evidenced above. From what I can see, the “many differences” means “he killed, tortured, raped, stole and genocided slightly less than Trump”.

1·1 day ago…while not technically disproving any individual claim I made…
I love how libs constantly move the goalposts when presented with data.
You did provide several articles that, while not technically disproving any individual claim I made, make good points that the Biden admin is not entirely innocent on some of the topics related to the points I mentioned. Still, as I’ve probably said before, the difference in scale is important.
Yeah, it is important. While Trump is a 9/10 monster, Biden is only an 8/10 monster, who supports Trump, and helps him out with his projects.

1·2 days agoSure, heres a few of them. For future reference, there are these things called “Search engines” that let you find stuff that you don’t know about. You should try them out. But something tells me that you won’t do any research, and you likely won’t even look into these.

35·2 days agoYeah, it$ $uper confu$ing. I’m not really $ure why $ome can get away with it, while other$ have their live$ de$troyed for it.
It means I have an old desktop in my closet, that I use to manage my own email. Here’s an example on what it takes to set it up: https://linuxvox.com/blog/install-and-configure-postfix-and-dovecot/
http://www.mutt.org/ is how I browse, manage, and send my email
Yes, it’s been very reliable. IME, the vast majority of people who complain about deliverability issues are
spammersmarketers. They set up their own servers, send out a bunch ofspamnewsletters, then complain that they get marked as spam. I don’t have much sympathy for them.Of course, I’m not saying that it never happens to legitimate email, but IME, that is increasingly rare, especially after setting up DKIM, SPF, and the like.
It also gets better over time as your IP gains a better reputation.
I run my email out of my closet. Postfix/Dovecot, using Mutt as my client.

2·7 days agoI don’t think they were “surprised” by it. It seems like they thought it was a search result. Which is fair, IMO. If DDG didn’t want people to mistake that for a search result, then they shouldn’t put it in the spot where the search results go.

Can I ask why? That’s where I gave up, but I keep having trouble articulating why.
