Whoa, let’s not get hasty.

Whoa, let’s not get hasty.

Laugh it up, Geordi. Do you have any idea how hard it is to clean stuff like that out?!

Yup. It’s hard to look at this and not imagine de-platforming the left sphere as deliberate.

Oh, the moment that fucking congress was involved, I knew they were all upset that millions of people were using a communication platform that they had zero eyeballs on. Worse yet, the only party that did was a foreign superpower. All of that is very bad news for entrenched politics, with people able to collectively invent a different mindset and/or get swayed by outside interests. The only way to fix this was ban it or own it somehow: the very two options floated at the time.
Meanwhile we narrowly avoided a precedent for a great firewall of our own.

You’ve heard of “a rising tide raises all ships”, right?
These clowns honestly think “sinking undesirable ships raises the seafloor”, and much prefer that methodology even if the gains are marginal.
For medium sized rice, consider mochi or tteokbokki.
It gets 1000% more fun when you have a lot of dental work.
Was that part of a filling or a crown? Did that damage my fillings?

Ugh. This DINO is talking out of both sides of his mouth. Let me explain.
So, Democratic voters have some spine when it comes to the integrity of their representatives. There, an apology is the bare minimum one can do to acknowledge a bad decision or take on something. In past years, that might have actually worked, but I think things are changing.
Meanwhile the Republicans have demonstrated that acting in accordance with party values - hierarchy, racism, brute force - is all that matters. Say whatever you want and lie your pants off since “the Democrats are probably cheating just as bad, and we’re the chosen people to lead anyway.” Being this duplicitous is a-okay on team R.
So what we have is someone that is trying to keep his seat cozy, both through lip-service to the left and voting like a right-winger at the same time.

Yup. Wet-bulb conditions are no joke and can kill, making functioning A/C a life-saving technology if not an outright requirement for survival.

“Why do you want to work here, as opposed to somewhere else?”
“Well, this company is at the top of my list.”
Sure, it might be an un-ranked list of “places I’m desperate to get hired by” but they don’t need to know that.

I was pretty direct at my last interview about being in the job market due to a layoff. It comes up since I frequently get asked about why I’m looking for a position. At the same time, most folks in my industry have a mortgage, a car payment, kids, or all of the above. In general: they get that I’m trying to avoid going broke, without having to go into details.
The way responsibility has been diffused throughout the command structure is exactly what RICO is for. That said, I don’t think it’s ever been used on a Federal agency before.
It would be nothing short of miraculous if that plan falls through just because it became wildly unpopular. This brings two things to mind:
It would explain why there’s a phased rollout of worse and worse policy with a lot of improv along the way. Otherwise, all this shit would “just happen” inside the first year.
It’s not hard to imagine these asswipes acting in a retaliatory manner for not getting their way. But what’s worse is to imagine a failing MAGA or P2025 cabal “going for broke” if it appears they’re all but finished, should we get there. IMO, we should all be prepared for both.

Total lack of empathy.
It is my unfounded, unsubstantiated belief that this is the biggest reason why ICE was chosen for the gestapo-like role they have now. If you take every last department with manpower and guns, the role of “disrupting and upending the lives of otherwise peaceful people” is far and away the one responsibility that differentiates it from all other roles. Like working in an abattoir, empathy just gets in the way of processing illegal immigrants for deportation. A total lack of empathy was a job requirement before all this kicked off. We shouldn’t be surprised that this is what we’re up against.

While I’ve never had the privilege of doing so in-country, it seems straightforward to make and would absolutely pair with Japanese beer*: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katsudon
* - Also something the Japanese refined from the Germans.

Sure it does, but the Japanese perfected it.
Altruism.
You’ll also see this in the negative too. People not paying attention on subway platforms or in the street will get shoulder-checked for getting in the way. It’s not nice, but if that sinks in as something “not to do”, then someone opted to be a heel for a moment to make things better for others.
FML. Thanks for the warning.
Pickle it. Sauerkraut makes a nice side-dish.
