What a horrible workplace this was. I’m really sorry to hear about that. May all of these terrible workplaces go bankrupt!

So it wasn’t just me then.

Yeah, martyring yourself for the cause is the greatest honor and gets you into the door of heavens. Opportunistic stuff like that.

Good thing I didn’t buy this game. Or continue to buy anything from steam. I got lost trying to figure out what this is even talking about, other than money money money.
Which reminds me. Hotline Miami has a native Linux build, yet I had to install a few more libs to get it to work. The funniest part is that this was a GOG installer, so it should have had the libs built in. If I downloaded the Windows installer and used it with Wine, I wouldn’t have ran into this problem.
Another problem is with some but not all Unity games. I don’t remember what the other one was, but HuniePop’s Linux build would be skipping frames, and the Windows build would run just as intended.
It’s then I learned to stick to Windows versions of games even if they got a Linux version. Besides, I can send these installers to actual Windows devices.

Very Cyberpunky. The bad parts of Cyberpunk that is.

All the employers where I am. Heck, they have some group chat “newsletters” and such set up to let us know of updates and things. Sometimes it’ll be used for informal group chats where things aren’t really binding, and reserve email for official communications.

A premium tier for WhatsApp? The app I want to get rid of but can’t because employers can’t be assed to send emails or make phone calls first?

No, it’s not. It’s extra not wrong if the “legal” method includes DRM or forces you into any DRM platform.

This reminds me, the Mojo Launcher is available on Google Play. You can download the app for free, create a local account, download whatever version you need, and you’re already in-game.
I only created a local account because I was too lazy to log into my MS account (can Mojang die for this migration sin?) before I realized I just downloaded Minecraft Java Edition for free with an app from the Play Store.
You didn’t hear anything from me.

I would go one several of these sites and just do the captchas every few minutes to earn a bunch of satoshi that ended up in a few cents. Then I’d spend that money for the lowest Humble Bundle tiers at less than $1 to get loads of DRM-free games.
Then Humble stopped accepting bitcoins as payment.

True. They’re nice in some ways, but not all the ways.

I once saw someone somewhere comment that HL2 is actually a tech demo meant to show off the physics stuff. Which I wholeheartedly agree with, and even that didn’t win me over. The game doesn’t feel like a shooter meant to be enjoyed, rather it feels like Valve flexing its muscles only because they can.
Wish we could all do more of that!

I once read that uninstalling packages with ADB on Xiaomi phones would make it even more painful to unlock the bootloader. It’s probably just a one off half truth but even that made me be wary of just uninstalling things - but yeah this means whenever someone wants to sideload something on a Samsung they need to follow a tutorial at best, that’s blegh.

I played this game twice, and tried to get to the end twice, and in both times I just WALKED AWAY. The original was actually playable and beatable in comparison.
One moment it’s a shooter, then it becomes a driving game, then it becomes one of the earliest walking sims with long stretches of nothing, then a horror game, then a tactical shooter, and it wasn’t good at any of them - it was all just cobbled together. Valve would have had a much better game if they sold just Ravenholm, the only part that actually evoked strong feelings in me.
And by this point in time I can’t help but think the funny letter G guy is just a Mary Sue to glue the game together with very little character or substance besides “man in black”.
I firmly believe the only reason this game is “beloved” is the same reason that iPhones sell just because of the logo of the company that made them. (And also because of this game every fucking company that breathes has an online DRM launcher)
Fear by Monolith and its expansions on the other hand, they were so much better despite the aiming system being unintuitive in comparison to HL the 2. Everything just clicks. I just loved Fear. But I’m sure this won’t save me from “Ubisoft target audience” allegations.
Everything except the cyberware. No Mr. Studds, no Midnight Ladies, no nothing.

As in, no side loading at all on Sammy devices? I find that hard to believe. You mean more restrictions on installing just some but not all APKs, right? That’s still scummy either way if true.
I have a GOG library specifically because it’s not tied to a stupid Valve Epic Games Uplay Launcher. This is their competitive edge. Plus, all of what you mentioned can be done with GOG through any semi-modern web browser.
It doesn’t matter. He’s clearly saying the only outcome he’ll accept is one that benefits him. Dictators don’t have to be smart or persuasive to be dictators.
