OP is promoting something they built. They’ve used this same line in previous posts, and other commenters have been equally confused.
Good on OP for creating something but it seems like a solution for a problem that doesn’t exist

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can you present devices without any security tags at Apple Stores in America?
10·9 days agoHowever, try doing the same thing in New York or Seattle and see what happens…
Ok, so this isn’t really even a question at all.
These days I usually start games on hard mode or higher. But i remember that was a huge mistake with Nier Automata. Its not a problem on NG+, but without chips, the first play though of the intro is impossible on harder difficulties. After hours of trying to get through the flight, I finally gave in and lowered the difficulty until the first save.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Typst: "as powerful as LaTeX while being much easier to learn and use"
4·22 days agoI’ve been meaning to learn LaTeX but never got around to it. I write documents in markdown and convert to PDF, but would like to have some rich typesetting.
For anyone who has ever used both, would you recommend learning this or LaTeX for non-academic use case?

science@lemmy.world•Movies reconstructed from mouse brain activityEnglish
8·28 days agoI think I missed the part about the mice’s dreams, because I didn’t see anything about that in the article.
Regarding the method, they seem to have built a model to do the work. They show a training video and just record what happens to the mouse’s brain. They then make an algorithm that says, “ok, this part of the brain activates 98% of the time when the pixel at position #8 is black, and this part 96% of the time when pixel #30 is white, etc…”. They then use a different video, which wasn’t used for training, and feed it into the algorithm to predict how the mouses brain will react. Then compare prediction with reality, and see how reliable it is.
Not sure there is an associated paper, but this is what I got out of the article alone.
In both the movie and the book, its mentioned that Sonny has a big penis.
In the book, the mistress stays in a toxic relation with him because her vagina is super wide (which she didn’t realize was abnormal) and Sonny was the only man who could make her orgasm. Then there was some problematic stuff about a surgeon who realizes her problem and fixes it so that he could be the first to enjoy the new vagina.
In the movies, she ends up having a child, who is Andy Garcia’s character in the third movie. Michael feels responsible for him because he finds out about this nephew he never knew he had.

See funny picture and move on. 3 days later the topic comes up. You’re not sure why, but you feel like whatever thing/person/group is bad. No facts needed, just vibes.

11·3 months agoWhat I’ve usually seen is that the VPS does TLS termination and then comms between the VPS and the LAN are sent http, but still secure due to traveling through the VPN. This is the easiest way if you don’t require full e2ee and trust your LAN

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What are some unique games to host server's of?English
9·4 months agoFinal Fantasy XI is still a beautiful game and is self hostable, but as with most MMORPGs, you need lots of people to get the full experience. Luckily if you’re hosting your own, you can always mod settings to make yourself lvl 99, turn off enemy AI, teleport anywhere, or whatever.
Is also storing your gpg keys in KPXC unsuitable for your purposes?

Linux@lemmy.ml•How do I turn my Anki deck into multiple choice quiz automatically?
7·7 months agoWhy do you have to mark cards manually? Anki’s algorithm already reschedules cards based on what you’re struggling with. Additionally the card browser has an ease filter that you can sort by.
How is the quiz you want different than what Anki already provides? Is it that instead of providing the answer from memory, you want to be provided a list of choices? I’d argue if you’re studying, it is better to do it the “hard” way by just knowing the answer, and then acing the test since its the easier multiple choice format. When I did Net+ and then Sec+, most of my questions were formatted this way, but I also manually added the multiple choice questions that were in my study book. For that I listed all the choices in the question field, then just the question and answer in the answer field.
Lastly, this isn’t really a Linux question though, as Anki is cross-platform. You may get more response on Anki’s forums.

Without even getting into the electronics similarities, they use common raw materials and manufacturing facilities. Diverting resources to one lowers supply of the other, affecting costs.
