Works better when spoken but just say this in your head really fast
What’s the difference between a good joke and a bad joke timing.

New Hampshire is a joke. They’re the only state in New England without recreational cannabis and their license plates say “Live Free or Die”. They also have the second highest property taxes in the country. Their libertarian enclaves get overrun by bears because they’ve cut town budgets so much there’s no money for garbage collection. Nothing they do there is surprising.

I would think someone alive during Jim Crow would remember Kent State

It sounded like you wanted a concrete example within living memory

The best arguments for metric is that you get to travel slightly faster for an equivalent speed limit (100 kph > 60 mph) and only needing to own one set of wrenches
The other major problem with this idea though is that the state with the most Republicans is California. So you need to deal with the fact that it’s largely an urban/rural divide, not a state/state divide. But even then Maine and Vermont have extremely liberal rural areas that buck that trend too. And optimistically I sometimes think most Republicans are victims of propaganda and that they don’t deserve to be left behind as a result of being manipulated by the wealthy.
Not every blue state is a net contributor. Vermont and Maine don’t deserve that fate
You mean the fifth book

I’m not saying not to do it, I’m saying you can’t just call for something on the internet and expect it to materialize out of nothing.
I’d also maybe suggest we stop using the term “general strike” when we mean “protest”

You have to build the ground work for that first. How do you feed people indefinitely when stores are closed, trucks aren’t moving, etc? You need a massive mutual aid network and solidarity. We don’t really have anything approaching that in the US

Idk really, community organizing, forming mutual aid groups, etc. Getting out and talking to your neighbors. Just tired of seeing the same old double standards posted like it’ll matter, and nothing actually getting done besides furious typing

Is “remain ‘impartial’ to political agendas” a dogwhistle for “tolerates Nazis” or have I just become too cynical

Good strategy, blame individuals for systemic problems lol

I’m not beaten, I’m suggesting alternate strategy

I wish the internet would get over its collective obsession with pointing out conservative double standards. They don’t care that they have double standards. In fact its a power move to show that they’re above whatever petty moral code everyone else has tied themselves to

FYI the Superbowl is a great time to go to the grocery store. I mark it on my calendar so I don’t forget

Jared Golden already announced he’s not running for re-election, and it’s not because he knows he’ll get primaried. He’s always been Republican-lite, voting for basically everything they wanted even though he’s technically a Democrat, so I assume he’s on his way around the iron triangle now that he’s proved his worth to his owners.

Yes they can but they’ll only do it when they’re sucking up to federal law enforcement
This is a bit overdramatic as many gun owners have only ever shot at targets on ranges
