I think Lemmy users are, on average, way too disconnected from this sort of humor to be laughing at mid-2010s memes in a post-ironic way lol
A fool for expecting it to clear up

Smells like this post is about you in here.

4·20 hours agoTHIS. OMG. Pressing down the left stick to sprint is fucking awful. Worst feeling button.

14·20 hours agoI hate it when games make you do heinous shit like this just to advance the plot. Call me any name you like, I don’t enjoy being a terrible person in a game that I didn’t go into with the expectation of playing the part. It just sucks and makes me not want to play your game.
While I personally can’t stand GNOME these days, it’s not the problem here. It’s Canonical’s desire for Snaps, a notoriously less standardized (and mature) packaging format, to be used for literally everything in Ubuntu; they’re aiming for system components to use it in the nebulous ‘future’.

3·10 days agoWould you mind explaining your distaste for Signal instead of dropping a single facepalm emoji? Replies like these leave a lot to be desired, no offense.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Crunchyroll Looks to Hire Anti-Piracy Lead (Vice President, Content Protection & Anti-Piracy)English
3·10 days agoWhy do people still actively pay for CR? Asking seriously. I kinda figured all the people that don’t know how to torrent ended up on one of the many anime streaming sites that have existed since the dawn of time…

Linux@lemmy.ml•Omarchy’s Kitty Config Exposed Users to Remote Code Execution
81·10 days agoI might get downvoted to hell and back for this, but can we stop talking about this piece of work distro? I don’t think the project needs any more PR, period, it’s what the loser who made it wants. Let the people who for some reason trust this collection of dotfiles and scripts do so in their own foolish bubble.
Dude fuuuuck sorry I keep tripping and forget to fill the hole in (lol) every time :/
I’ve been of the (deeply unscientific) opinion that 8 hours of sleep a day is some shit that only works out if you work humane hours. As in, significantly less than 40 a week; ~30, maybe.
Super cool goal they’re achieving, installing this on my OG Surface Laptop. Thanks for making me aware of this.
Sure! Here’s what I see on the nadeko Invidious instance.

Yep, USA. Part of my potential plans were to go to Canada first, though, for their better relationship with other countries!

Linux@lemmy.ml•As Ubuntu embraces AI, Debian discusses banning all AI-generated code
2·22 days agoThis is a bit reductive on the situation with Ubuntu side of things but I don’t know why you’re being downvoted since you’re not technically wrong lol… vibe-coding on a large scale always results in very poorly structured code unless significant manpower is used for manual review.
Thanks a lot! This is invaluable to know and look into before I ever begin to seriously considering uprooting my life. I wouldn’t mind going through the paces to attain a life I find desirable, but it depends on how prohibitive things are if the time comes to make decisions like this.
Saved, this is a really good thing to have on hand. Thanks for posting.
Do you know anything about the data behind this paper? Why was there a spike in rent costs in 1928?
Seeing Cowbee around after joining Lemmy has reinforced my belief that I’m doing the right thing by being ruthlessly patient and positive with others. That dude’s awesome, he recommended me, a total stranger, some introductory ML literature (and I haven’t had the time to read it yet…), which I’m sure he gets questions about very often.
(If you see this, Cowbee, thanks again! I’d love to chat some after I’m done reading what you’ve provided me. :) )
This sort of life being possible in China makes me desire immigration to non-major city areas over there. I only have concerns of freedom of information and access to the greater internet- censorship on a national firewall level is something I’m simply not able to tolerate.
IMPORTANT: I am an American with a public education, and have no real knowledge of what life’s like there in terms of freedoms. I’ve just heard things.
Would you mind going into a bit of detail about how accessing the greater internet works over there? That is, if you know anything. I think I am correct in assuming you are not currently residing there. Would love another’s take on this.

Fall into an open manhole xoxo
