You’d think this would be a career suicide film but it’s aaaaaaalmost okay. At times the creator’s heart is in the right place, but fumbles the bag pretty hard by, you know, making this. It’s possible the script folks read was different enough that they only saw the wholesome parts. That or they were paid a shit ton.

2·1 year agoA well built world, big reveals, and wonderful emotional payoffs. Easy rec for a Sanderson fan.
I saw all 5 Highlander movies for the first time this year and this one was my favorite by far.
The aliens send people into the future as a punishment? Then when the punishment isn’t punishment-y enough, they send goons into the further future to kill the guy?? And then when the goons point out ‘why bother? Why not just wait and he’ll die anyway?’ Also why even wait because time is apparently a pointlessly easily accessible plaything but NO QUESTIONS go to future kill old man???
Incomprehensible, hilarious

2·2 years agoNice to know, but it’ll really come down to VST support. I can relearn a new DAW, but I can’t magic up new libraries. I also don’t really wanna have to learn futzing with Linux when I have enough hobbies. As much as windows sucks, it’s convenient that their product supports everything I want out of the box. Once a Linux distro can do the same for my needs, I’m all in.

8·2 years agoLosing Ableton and all my VSTs are dealbreakers with Linux for me. Would be fine with the games I play, being all mostly single player indies. I could relearn a new video editing software, and I assume Citrix will work fine for all my work programs, but maaaan I’m not losing my favorite VSTs.
I better start studying up then for if/when I eventually find 3 other folks willing to play it with me~
I was able to release on the 14th, maybe a few minutes after 12 their time. One of the lucky ones!
And yep all the small ones were impulse. I’ve never played any version of Splendor but heard great things about duel, and at ~$13 pfft that’s basically free.
I did scoop up Ark Nova before ever having played it lol, the deal was nuts. I did get a chance to play it at my LGS the following week and immediately felt good about the purchase. Grand ol time.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Can someone still viewing Reddit explain how it is doing as of right now in terms of content quality and engagement?Akan
9·3 years agoCan’t speak for defaults or large subs, just anecdotal stuff from the few times when I browsed on desktop since Friday.
One of my favorite subreddits /r/progmetal is still private with a message to join the discord instead. Glad they’re staying dark.
Others seem like business as usual, but I don’t have any data obv.

Windows 10 was absolutely not a miracle on launch, it had its own host of problems that got fixed or ‘features’ removed over time. I distinctly remember the indexing and search being completely worthless for the first year. Forums were filled with posters declaring they’d hold onto Windows 7 until their PC crumbled to dust, and then they would finally switch to Linux. Such is the cycle of Windows releases.
