politics @lemmy.world•Democrats let it all out at their party meetingEnglish
3·6 months agoLet’s go back to 90s with free trade agreements, EFCA miss under Obama, PRO act not going anywhere, declining union membership, oligarchy levels of inequality… like any politician worth listening to should be able to figure this out.
If you still want to paint people who work at a company like Ford, seeing what Trump has done with tariffs and calling their vote anything other than a desired union policy outcome. I am not sure what to say.

Technology@lemmy.world•This Tiny Radio Lets Me Send Texts Without Wi-Fi or Cell ServiceEnglish
3·7 months agoLoRa has been around for a while trying to break through with different devices, some of it does seem useful, but it’s a tough sell to invest in something without knowing where the network will go. A carrier model or something else, maybe subsidies, is needed.

1·9 months agoPeople do seem to support this, and there are plenty of recent examples why it would be good. An amendment would not be bad.

66·9 months agoIf the DNC doesn’t like what David Hogg is doing, they should have real primaries and shouldn’t be against term limits, the lack of which prevents younger people from learning how to succeed in politics.

1·10 months agoNot really, they’re the villain for doing exclusives. Steam never did exclusives, at least not with 3rd party devs.

1·10 months agoSteam reduced their cut to 20% for the biggest publishers, let’s see any of the others do that. They also allow other stores on the steam deck. They also allow steam keys and shouldn’t demand MFN pricing.
Their cut is worth it to users for the same reasons as an iOS and Android user might say, except when it comes to switching platforms, your steam games can come with you to rival platforms and not just friendly ones.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why does a state like California that has supermajorities in both houses of the legislature not have a livable wage, housing guarantees, universal healthcare, and other very progressive policies?
27·2 years agoCalifornia is near the top in these things, except housing which you can squarely blame on NIMBYs. It’s expanding healthcare for migrants, the minimum wage in most cities now is twice the federal minimum wage. It’s also doing well in terms of renewable energy even though energy rates are sky high. Alternative and public transportation and other public services are also getting better, albeit slowly. Can’t have everything, but CA is doing better than most.

10·2 years agoISO-8601 has the answer for computers, and maybe humans too. It’s the last way you mentioned for everyday use.
Musk, Tim Apple, and Jensen’s actions would beg to differ.
