I switched from Win95 to Redhat out of curiously. The first attempt ended in kernel panik, the second succeeded. Despite many challenges I was happy there, because there usually was a way to fix things to work in a way I could live with. There was also lots of opportunity to break things and learn. Also the shell in Linux was much better than in windows. Been using Linux at home, university and work since. Seeing what windows has turned in to I am glad I switched many years ago.

I remember kernel panic and dependency hell. But it was also wonderful to get away from win95.

I like neomutt and kmail.

I like Poky. But for other use case than Arch, Debian and Fedora.

Is there an Android phone that supports dual boot? I would like to have that so can use Lineage or something similar and only boot into Google android when I need to use banking app or government ID that requires the safetynet antifeture. This would free me from carrying two phones. But I suppose a locked down bootloader can not support dual boot and an unlocked will not support the safetynet antifeature.

I have Arch running on a Chromebook using depthboot.

The problem is when those apps are required for banking, identification with government websites and money transfer and no free software alternative exists. Somwhow the government dont see it as a problem to force people to be Google or Apple customers. At the moment I am forced to have two phones. One relatively secure and free with LineageOS and one insecure and nonfree used for banking ++ which I only turn on when I need.

I also run LineageOS, but some apps installed using Aurora will not work since the phone can not prove to be part of the Google bootnet. I think it’s called SafetyNet. How do I get around that problem?

Kernel panic after installing Redhat 6, not RHEL, in the late 90s or early 2000s. Later tried 7 and has been using Linux since.

Made a basic script with a nested loop to burn ~20 mins before playing some annoying sounds using the PC speaker. The PC must have been a <=286. I started the script once just before the English teacher arrived and disconnected and hid the keyboard. It resulted in some entertainment when he had to try to silence the PC, but eventually he found the power button.

I don’t like i and j since they are commonly used for imaginary numbers. I like to start on n. Probably because I do DSP.
