the point was, someone claimed that only Macs have unified memory, so I gave some counterexamples, not an exhaustive list of all counterexamples.

which is not unique to Macs. all ARM PCs have unified memory. you’re talking a feature of ARM architecture vs x86.
lots of companies besides Apple are making ARM PCs, and Linux (and Windows and other OSes) runs fine on ARM with unified memory.
you shouldn’t go by just one name unless you’re the most famous person with that name in the whole sector - i was confused why the BSD Theo was advocating Linux now.
Iceland shouldn’t be on this, it didn’t exist until ~20 million years ago. Pangaea broke up ~200 million years ago.

bonus fun fact - the etymology is connected - “axle” comes from older words for “shoulder”, or “armpit”, which survives in some regional Englishes as “oxter” - the connection is apparently that you’d carry a person by putting their arms up and linking at the shoulders, much like an axle is how wheels carry a cart.

At the time of “Who Mourns For Morn”, Armin Shimerman (Quark actor, also a keen union activist) told Mark Allen Shepherd (Morn actor) he really should be getting more money than his background actor rates, since Morn had become genuinely prominent in the show. Shepherd refused because he was afraid the producers would just stop using Morn if he asked.
