Yeah, photon frontend for lemmy is great in that regard. I can see a collection of threads of all the crossposts altogether in one page. Lovely! (except when the number of comments was too high everywhere haha!)

Yeah, I was using vivaldi before switching to Zen browser (a firefox fork with the sidebar as I like it.) The only thing I cared for was about that UI change.

Agreed. Thou it doesn’t really reply to OP question about “asking for permission”. The advice given here is more in line with the netiquette of crossposts overall, and shows one special case where a crosspost could be undesired (not by its poster but by all users.)
Other than this, I don’t think there’s anything wrong about using the feature as it is. I actually find OP question quite “absurd”, like for me the answer is obviously not wrong… just use the feature in the software (lemmy)

I am not really answering your question, but I had this crush on a girl because she was 10/10 on looks and also seemingly innocent as a young kid. In the end, she was really immature on intelligence and emotionally. I wouldn’t date someone like her again.
I say I am not answering your question because you only provide an example of a fact she didn’t know. My answer is more general, this kind of thing you saw on her is something that the person I am describing could have done, easily. To me, personally, taking the whole bigger picture, with more examples like yours, plus some context, and given my previous experience, this is a red flag and make me just walk away from them…
So, to answer your question, give it a few more tries. Look how do they react when corrected (if they laugh then is quite cool and fun moment.) but if they feel “insulted” then there’s lack of emotional maturity too… that’s my red flag.
not an explanation but since we are talking about the greatness of corn, let me share this little fact: according to mesoamerican civilization (or, at leas the Mayas’ genesis) humans were made out of corn :)

PS. I couldn’t find a cleaner, high res. version and pictoline.com (listed there at the source) only has it in spanish. To make things even worse, there are many edited versions that replace nazis with other ideologies :/ f* the volatility of the internet… Oh. gotta search the internet archive… yeah, nope… not there either. Anyone can find a better version or knows the original source to this? else shall we try upscaling this JPG?

they could be spamming that webcomic that explains “the paradox of tolerance” by k. popper ;) it would be very fitting to the ongoing situation.

I thought I was agreeing with you for naïve comparisons between software products. But since you got into my example… I will have to say: from the problems you describe (like getting a signature by both management and HR), I barely see anything related to documentation of PostgreSQL (which was my point). And I struggle to see, for any of the issues you mentioned, how Windows SQL server is any easier. Plus, almost all organizations (Big and small) are using postgreSQL and not Windows SQL server.
Last but not the least, I can’t understand what you’re asking at the end: Does an “entrenched” anything sound “nimble” to you?
???

To be honest, open source and documentation (plus, chatGPT correct answers) are way more coupled in some open sorce projects than Windows and all their magic tricks, error codes, and so on. The fact that there is some sort of commercial support that is bigger or better with proprietary software (generally speaking) is true and partially because of network effect. I do agree with you. But I think it depends on what are we comparing… e.g. Windows SQL server vs. Docker PostgreSQL. I rather stay with Postgres, since it runs all over the world.

As a professional opinionator, I…

I always assumed that the toxicity is in the spores, so I second this…

same happened with anarchism. I bet someone will come reply to me, saying that anarchism is actually bad because it means “chaos” and “no laws”, yada yada.

In Germany, all leftists have a lot of guilt… it’s their innermost engine. IMHO, it’s quite notable that around 60% of the left argues with a minority 40% using an argument that goes like “if you’re against the war in Gaza, then you’re borderline antisemitic.” And, in some cases, they just accuse you of being antisemitic “for being against the statehood of Israel”. They just interpret you as being against the statehood of Israel, extrapolating from what you say. They simplify the reality, e.g. they care shit about looking at maps through time, how the border has been moving… or the videos and other documents of the massacres and genocide. I still remember the voice of that child that was left alone in a car after a missile killed their parents (it’s a phone recording to 911). And I still remember the criminal missile that killed the rescue team that was going to get this child. But, most people just didn’t see this, or all the other stuff. Ignorance is too abundant. Sames goes for the right, though there the propaganda is way heavier leaning towards proactive denial of what’s happening.

phones have a lot of hardware that could be reused if it weren’t for a soldered battery that turns itself into useless (and a fire hazard) after many cycles and reaching end of life… this is really a pity.
not if you trained a lot of swordsmanship, like this guy over here
- The average age seems to be much higher. I joined when I was 16 and feel quite young unlike on other social media.
Enjoy. Less echo bubbles. This goes in both directions, but mainly I value that younger people are able to be part of “mature conversations”. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to underestimate your worldview or anything. It’s just that I’m remembering when I was around your age, the Internet was in a raw form, and it felt much like this. I was amazed to be able to talk with other adults and learn about their tastes on say books or movies when I joined some theme specific chat channel (via protocol IRC). At some point this changed drastically (e.g. Facebook connecting people from real life/ schools)… and I think nowadays TikTok, Insta, and for the most part, even YouTube are just centered around being young, pretty… very much like mainstream TV.
since we’re stretching the concepts, how about being inhuman for failing an actual captcha? :P
fwiw, sea slugs are usually poisonous (and colorful)
