ZILtoid1991@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•This is what actual brandishing looks like
19·8 hours agoConservatism only holds one position, there should be in-groups that are protected but not bound by law, and out-groups that are not protected but bound by law.
Being edgy by pedojaketing people…

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are americans taking health advice from a former heroin addict ?
1·1 day agoThere’s a half-naked photo of him, where he’s swole, then people decided he looked “healthy”, because the body building community managed to control the narrative around the health implications of the sport.
It still haunts the OS though, especially as Windows used to be actually good back then.

Technology@lemmy.world•Meet ‘Amelia’: the AI-generated British schoolgirl who is a far-right social media starEnglish
91·2 days agoAI is a deeply anti-intellectual technology. In fact, I jokingly say that AI stands for anti-intellectualism. Most actual technophobes hailed this technology as a liberator of men from the machines, so they can return to the factories to produce products, so there won’t be any financial crash from office workers being a deadweight on the economy.
Since more left leaning, even including mainstream liberals did not like this technology, they had to make do with whatever they had, so it were somewhat well-fettered libertarians at best (some of whom since regretted touching AI due to the slop tsunami), and at the very worst: fascists, who vowed that artists will submit to them, to make works that honor the great masters of the pas in large scale, but since didn’t, all they were left with is AI slop in industrial scale. Some industry folks allegedly believe they’re just edgy conservatives, and with the next tide they can get liberals on board, while others like Alex Karp are very aware of the nature of AI’s popularity.

13·3 days agoSo far, there’s a snake game, but I’m also working on an Asteroids clone at the moment called Asteroidfields, besides upgrading its editor to the current API version. Do note that those 10 years weren’t a full-time job.
Used to know an apple fan in college, he almost screamed at me for buying a wired mouse with a good sensor rather than a wireless one with a bad one, because according to Apple, I would benefit more from the latter, and otherwise I’m setting back “wireless mains power tech”, which I showed a disinterest in by buying the wired mouse. He also called me a child when I bought a graphics card.

It is actually preferable if you have both of them. If you only have one, your life will be hell.

In a lot of fields, the middle-ground is completely barren.
Audiophiles killed middle of the ground hi-fi systems, now all you can easily get is soundbars, bluetooth speakers, and the ever golden audiophool stuff with healing crystals. Often your best bet is to buy cheap pro audio stuff, a cheap audio interface also gives you a good 48V XLR input, studio headphones are comfortable and don’t have BASS BOOST built in, etc.
The same will happen to gaming. You’ll be either forced to use an iGPU, or shell out $2000+ for a GAMING GPU with factory overclock and RGB LEDs.
