I don’t count being polite in public small talk, I mean things like being at a party where you don’t know anybody, work events, ceremonial events, those kinds of small, short hells.
Talking random bullshit with someone you know well is great, performative socially masked pleasantries specifically chosen for their generality, and uncontroversial nature is immensely draining emotionally and mentally.

9·9 months agoAny regulator specifically exists to counter these forces, so any regulatory capture is the most devastating to society as it opens entire industries to corruption. For some reason capitalists think foxes know the most about chickens, so surely they should be in charge of the henhouse.
Libertarianism is a lie for people that want a high trust society without putting in any of the effort and cooperation that it requires. For people who expect things to naturally work while still saying “fuck you got mine”.

4·9 months agoFind something you love to make your goal in life. Only finding motivation in stressors to escape rather than something to move towards will burn you out and drive you to the depths of depression, even if you’re successful at it.

I’m inclined to agree, because some of the major consequences that should happen need to go through Alberta’s energy market and the bought and paid for traitor Danielle Smith, whom Carney still refuses to treat with anything other than kid gloves.
