  • Honey, at your age I thought 35 was old. At 35 now, it’s really just a matter of perspective. You’re dad isn’t old, he just ain’t young. I still go out to raves and party, just not as often as I did in my twenties and I like to have a Disco nap before heading out to the rave that opens at midnight til the morning.

How is a 36 year old supposed to act? Well, we define that by being in our mid thirties and acting how we want. You’re doing the same at 18, defining how 18 year olds act.

Don’t sweat how you’re “supposed to be”, just take care of yourself and do what ya need to do to be healthy and happy.

  • The tonal shifts are really rough. Jarring is right. I feel like I need to watch the first episode again because they’d jump from one baffling thing to another. Why is Starfleet ripping a child away from a mother? Why is there no councilor? Why is the captain/headmaster now trying to play mom to this kid??? Oh wait emotional scene over now it’s your first day at school young man! What wacky characters will you meet? There’s for some reason a hologram child?? Sure she’s an autistic person analog but why not make her that and instead a hologram? To what end? Don’t think too hard, we’re back to violence!! Violence with some flat dull jokes! Slapstick!

    Argh. Exhausting.

  • No, it seems like it will follow a gaggle of students, but the premier starts with setting up the dark backstory of one of them in an over the top way and it takes forever. Eventually they get to Starfleet Academy.

::: Spoilers for the first 15 minutes: I found the setup for this baffling. The 3 minute military tribunal that determined that Caleb Mir should be ripped away from his mother felt very unlike anything I’ve come to expect from the Federation. Then it’s tonal whiplash with the person who took a child away from their mother trying to play surrogate mom and get the kid to go to school? :::

No worries if you found it confusing. Every few seconds there’s a baffling decision displayed, so it kinda short circuits the brain and makes it hard to pay attention.
