1·3 years agoThat is what shocked me the most. They are going out of their way to make him look like a gold digger who apparently made a fortune. This is insanity. What’s more is that they think that the charges are good business for app devs to pay up. The issue is that if the apps are gone, no one is paying Reddit anymore. It’s odd how they skim over that part.

19·3 years agoI guess i didn’t think it would be this bad. Like in one of my favorite subs, some of the user base is turning on the moderators, who have been excellent and have developed the community from nothing. It’s just unbelievable to see some of them turn that quickly.

9·3 years agoWe need a critical mass on a few subs and somehow help out with the servers so they don’t blow up. If we get those two sorted, we should be okay.

I got a spare raspberry pi set up as a server. I can use that to host stuff and am okay in programming (not rust though). Let me know if I can be of assistance in anyway. Be happy to help with this effort

That title is a bit misleading. Reddit mods might have stopped protesting, but the news of the implosion was quite significant. The existence of Lemmy is a testament to this. I don’t think their IPO is going to be as strong as they had hoped. That financial impact is quite opposite of the victory they claim to have achieved.
Also, the posts on Reddit and the responses have declined in quality in my opinion.
