Be thankful on this great socialist American holiday for the people.

I always give the Amazon delivery people a good revie (if they dent mess up). Those are the average people just trying to make it every day. They work their asses off for the dark empire. If I can help them get a raise or a better bonus Amazon gift card at Christmas, I will do my part.

Technology@lemmy.world•It's not just you — no one is posting on social media anymore
4·3 years agoGetting older. Lots of drama. Lots of political bullshit I can’t stand anymore and don’t want to hear about. Not saying my situation is the healthiest in the world but that is how I am feeling these days.

352·3 years agoI dont even want to talk to half the people I know anymore lol. I stopped using FB but keep it running because there are many years of pics and what not for family. And when I bring it down people freak out and think something is wrong with me. Other than that, it has been stripped of any identifying information, only has people I know and I never use it anymore. That was the only real ‘personal’ place I had on the internet. Everything else is fake names and whatnot, always has been.
A little slower, but nothing. Mullvad is pretty good. A mix of Firefox and Tor.
Bottom line is it is a good browser and faster than most if not all the others I have tried. Certainly faster than Firefox and Mullvad. If you don’t like the add’s turn them off. If you dont like the wallet and other stuff, dont use them. It is easy to ignore that stuff. Nothing in that article makes me want to stop using it.
I have added Mullvad browser to the mix. It’s pretty good.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is anyone else having trouble giving up Reddit due to content?
5·3 years agoYep… still much more active and more content there. I think Lemmy is great but Lemmy still has a long way to go.
I know some punchy english dudes but yeah, you right. Nothing like America.
Every state has its good and bad. We are out of control with the gun thing. There is a higher chance you will get shot and killed while minding your own business in America than most other countries. We are selfish and not much unity unless you are on one side or there and even then, we have become stupid and gullible. We are violent. We are much more violent in general than anyone I have ever encountered in other countries. Maybe England, but even there, it is not the same. Americans have no problem straight up killing each other. We are getting worse.
Is America great? Depends on who you ask. Is America a place where you still have some opportunities to make a better life for yourself. Sure. But it is not the same as that the pamphlet sold to everyone else. We are far from perfect and in many cases, other countries do things better.
Having said that, it is cool. Just keep your eyes open and pay attention.

Memes@lemmy.ml•At this point you're a conspiracy theorist if you don't want to eat bugs.
1·3 years agoSanity is not playing in to mainstream discourse anymore. The loonies are out and have been empowered. Best we can do is try to get them back on their meds and professional help.

2·3 years agoWe would all be just a little better off as a whole if we ate some beans instead of a steak more often than not.

Memes@lemmy.ml•At this point you're a conspiracy theorist if you don't want to eat bugs.
2·3 years agoThey saw the movie Snowpiercer and now the future of humanity is eating bugs. And it very well could be. People have been eating bugs since, forever. Roaches will probably be around after many food sources are gone and we will eat them. You can bet on it.
Many cultures eat bugs for protein. The fact that this all becomes some kind of conspiracy thing just shows how stupid and gullible people have become.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why aren't we just stealing all of the top content from Reddit and posting it here?
3·3 years agoI think the key will be the adoption of all the sub-reddits coming here and producing the same quality content they do there.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it really a mass exodus? And is it really a mass exodus to lemmy?
7·3 years agoPeople have become more open to “testing the waters” of other apps. Sure they are still using Reddit and Twitter etc… but many have also started playing with lemmy, mastodon etc… I have no idea where this will end up but there is a shift of willingness to try something else and that is good start.
