The existing ones were mostly budget models with cheap hardware and terrible software support. I miss the Nokia E71 which had a similar format, I rarely watch videos and typing on touch screen keyboards still sucks, so I would happily give up some screen real estate for a physical KB. I would love one of these, especially if it had semi-official Graphene support.

You need to set up a VPN client on the laptop and connect that VPN client to the router.

AFAIK Android does not pass hotspot data via it’s VPN connection for whatever reason.
