I live in rural Ohio and actually live fairly close to a decent sized solar farm.

Over the last 2-3 years I’ve seen more household solar setups, and one person I’m super jealous of has a really nice wind turbine/solar hybrid system with a garage battery wall visible when they leave their garage door open.

We’re very slowly getting there, but it’s like running a race with a weight around your ankle and people swinging at you with bats.

And STILL I hear dumb shits in the US say “solar isn’t feasible”

Motherfuckers then why does literally every other country have tons of solar plants, rooftop installations, balcony installations and some packed away they can pull out when the power cuts out? Why do major companies put massive solar farms next to their new factories? Why are people interested in fossil fuels spending so much goddamn money telling people solar sucks? If it sucked, people wouldn’t use it.

I mean… He’s already destroyed what reputation and goodwill the country had with most friendly nations, and that won’t be likely to ever recover. Certainly not for many decades. The country itself is in quite a bit of internal turmoil.

He is unlikely to destroy the world, but plenty of insane Nationalist Christians believe the end is close and want to bring about global war so a carpenter who died a couple thousand years ago can come out of the celestial closet he’s been hiding in. So while unlikely, he’s got people trying to make it happen.

I have several hobbies that could make bank if I wanted to put in time and effort.

That requires treating executive dysfunction, which can’t happen unless I have money. In order to get money I have to work jobs I absolutely hate, and that suck all energy and will to live out of me, and I don’t want to do anything with my hobbies.

If I didn’t have to worry about food, housing, and whether I have electricity or not, I could sell a handful of things a month and be just fine on utilities and a luxury purchase every so often.

My headcannon: having read the Absolutely 100% canon books “Q-zone, W-Strike, and Q-space”, my personal belief is that since Q is partially responsible for the entity in the center claiming to be god, Q decided to artificially speed up their journey to the barrier and back home. Nobody on the ship brought it up because nobody was even thinking about travel time in the middle of all that.

Agreed every day about this social safety net needs expanded, that program needs better funding, more programs like this or that should exist for people in need, but once the dreaded “S” word comes out, suddenly everyone is a commie. Cause you know how socialism is actually communism and all that.

I would assume if they meant it as some kind of a dig, they wouldn’t accept the invitations to hammock with us. Their tone was friendly, it’s just not a term I’ve heard and given the different comments so far, it seems to be a mixed bag as to whether other people would consider it an insult or a compliment.

Really though given the context, I’m going to take it as a compliment even if it was meant as an insult.
