  • While this post is talking about the internet, in general it is important to talk about “politics” with people (what is “political” ?).

    If you don’t talk to people about why racism, sexism, transphobia or something else is bad, they will bring that conversation to people who don’t have the choice to ignore the conversation. They will harm and harass minorities.

    I agree that the internet might not be the best place to change people’s minds, but it is important to name and argue against bigotry when encountered.

    You should of course still be mindful of your own mental health <3

  • All positions of power can (and will) be exploited. While religion has been used to justify a lot of bad things, so has a lot of other things. Religion is also a lot of good things, like culture, philosophy and wisdom passing through generations.

    It is also worth noting that you criticise religion as a whole, but all your links are about Christianity.

    I point this out, because I used to be a hardcore White atheist and I had a lot of bad takes. A lot of indigenous religions do not have the same ideas about hierarchy and even the Christian idea that humans are above nature often does not exist.

    Hierarchies are a bad thing in all* forms, but hierarchies are not necessary for religion.

  • I think perhaps it would be nice with custom tags.

    I would like to block all content of sexual nature (sexual nudity, lewd anime, the like)

    it is very subjective what is nsfw and what is not. For some people, making porn is their work, so obviously porn is not nsfw for them.

    If we had custom tags, we would have the hassle of having the same thing in a lot of different categories, but I would much prefer that to having only the nsfw option which is just not enough to capture the diversity of content (and badly named).

    then I could block all the porn tags (or perhaps block a user driven list of porn tags) and avoid a lot more “porn” than I do now 😅

  • I try to be ready to leave, meaning dressed and bag is packed, as early as possible. I am for being as ready as possible at least 15 minutes before I leave. I add and subtract minutes depending on how important the event is and how much I need to have checked before leaving.

    also, I try to aim for being at least 10 minutes early for most events. this is working very good for me. it allows small talk with other people who’ve arrived and it allows time for being late.

    it is time consuming, but I’ve come to enjoy the breaks it gives, before leaving and when arriving early ^^

    also, thinking through what I need to prepare before leaving as early as possible. Often, I think about it the afternoon before I have to pack.

    good luck :)

    //edit:

    these systems don’t stop me from getting distracted and forgetting things, but because I’ve moved everything 15 minutes earlier, then when I’m late for my own deadlines, often I’ll still make it to the actual deadlines :)
