63·1 year agoThe meat and dairy industry use vastly more water and also contribute to climate change through greenhouse gas emissions, while almond trees help to reduce CO2. Maybe focus on that instead of buying into the animal ag propaganda.

1·1 year agoYou need a tilt-shift lens to properly preserve the lines of architecture in photography. When taking a photo of a building, especially from below, with a wide angle lens so it captures the whole structure, the angles get distorted.
Little Simz, Sampa the Great, and Snow Tha Product are some of my modern favorites

8·1 year agoHave you considered adoption? There are SO many kids out there who need loving homes. If you’re worries about children regretting their existence, at least you could provide a safe place for those that are already here and also fulfill your desire to be a parent.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movies were the definitive one for a generation to you.English
1·1 year agoI just watched Didi and it seems to do a great job with the millennial coming of age story. They’re a bit younger than me, but I related a lot to the characters and setting.
Dunno if it’s THE definitive movie, just thought I’d recommend because it’s recently on my mind.

News@lemmy.world•US Justice Department accuses six major landlords of scheming to keep rents highEnglish
23·1 year agoYears ago, when I lived in Boston, a realtor company mistakenly sent me a letter meant for my landlord. It said something like, “rentals are lucrative and prices keep rising! You should maximize your yearly lease price increases to make more money.”
The brokers get a full months rent fee in Boston just for showing the apartment, so this was really infuriating.

94·1 year agoAnd now you can take this reasoning and think about all the millions of innocent animals killed every day for meat, often in ways that could easily be considered torture if people didn’t pretend it wasn’t happening / justified for their taste buds.
