I kinda assumed this was the case, and some higher ups likely know this too. I know in Ontario, when you get fingerprinted by the police, it’s not just your fingers, they’ll take your whole palm print. Billions of people in the world, very unlikely anyone is 100% unique.

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. It’s been great having a rolling release distro that I don’t have to worry about breaking with updates

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why not make a bot that copy-pastes Reddit threads into respective Lemmy ones?
39·2 years agoIt exists and people hate it. If you want reddit go to reddit.
Rewards? Oh yeah, less money in my pocket and price increases every few months? Sounds way more convenient than ublock and revanced. Rather pay with my money for an ad-free experience and line the pockets of a rich corporation. My time is too valuable to compile revanced once every few weeks!
it’s pretty easy and convenient currently. install magisk delta (for proper magisk hide support) and playintegrityfix and things should work no problem.
been using google wallet on lmodroid without issue. even have a module installed for unlimited google photos backups :)

302·2 years agoAs much as omegle was a cesspit, there are already even sketchier alternatives up and running. This will be a wild goose chase with no end in sight unless sites like this get rid of all privacy and log every single interaction and step up their moderation.
Like piracy sites and other illegal/grey areas, take one source down and two more will appear, or however the saying goes.

6·2 years agoI switched to Vivaldi a couple months ago, and previously used brave in the past before growing to dislike it. It surprises me how many brave-heads ignore Vivaldi’s existence. It’s just a better Brave. No crypto BS and lots of poweruser features.

Android@lemmy.world•LineageOS is currently installed on 1.5 million Android devices
2·2 years agoSimilar to Lineage but a few extras. I’ve been enjoying it a lot. Also seems to have better compatibility with gapps if you choose to install them. Been running Nikgapps full no issue where on lineage pixel launcher would crash frequently.

4·2 years agomagisk delta + play integrity fix has worked well for me. using google wallet without an issue
Because adblocking is free and if done right not detectable. I haven’t had a single issue with ublock on youtube.
I used to pay for premium but they keep upping their prices. At this point ublock on computers + revanced on phone is best way to go. Premium features without paying a cent.

11629·2 years agoAlmost like when you take religion out of the picture it’s one country committing genocide against another which is never okay for any reason. Israel can scream “but muh anti-semitism” all they want but it’s a scapegoat. Ignore Jewish/Muslim backgrounds and look at what’s really going on. It’s nothing but a disgusting land grab and genocide that’s been going on since WW2.
The world would 100% be a better place without Israel, and that’s nothing to do with their religion. The country itself is evil and corrupt. They are bigoted and hypocritical. Israel deserves no sympathy or support. Out of all the bullshit I’ve seen happen in the middle east the past few decades, Israel is definitely the most abhorrent and repulsive source of conflict.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Once a pirate, always a pirate
2·2 years agoThis isn’t as much of a meme as it’s a commentary on the state of the media industry. Even when my disposable income was great enough for me to subscribe to multiple services, piracy is just so damn easy and convenient that I’d rather pirate everything I want and have it all on my own streaming server (jellyfin) and be able to watch everything in one place, instead of having multiple services with hardly any worthwhile content. Having to scroll through hundreds of movies and shows I have no interest in to find the handful of things worth watching, spread across multiple services and apps, is nothing but a headache. Plus, even if I pay for a subscription, they up their prices on a regular basis.
This is no meme, this is a statement that the only real way to enjoy media without headaches is piracy. This has always been the case and always will be.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Youtube is allowing Youtubers to advertise their merch even for premium users
11·2 years agoI use revanced. None of youtube’s changes upsets me because I know within hours/days they’ll be patched out.
I know all the private alternatives are useful, but using the google ecosystem directly without dealing with their money grubbing schemes feels like nice way of saying “suck it”
I’ve been enjoying Chris Edwards Restoration recently. He works on a lot of old Amigas.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does it matter if I skip sponsored ad segments in YouTube videos?
28·2 years agoNo, the creator has been paid for the sponsorship beforehand. If you were never going to get the products that are sponsored then there’s no difference between skipping it or letting it play and ignoring it.
I mean yeah, youtube does track the times in videos people do watch and are engaged in, but by skimming through almost any video you can see many people skip around and don’t actually watch the full videos.
Sponsorblock just saves me from manually skipping past the sponsorships. I was never going to buy a shilled product to begin with anyway. I buy things based on my own research, not what a youtuber says I should buy.
They’re right here on the threadiverse
Yeah, nowhere near the size of reddit, but who wants that? Easier to have discussions without bazillions of people posting crap like “works for me” or being dicks.
I don’t really trust other alternatives. Being unfederated, they rely on a closed source solution maintained by a single person or very small group of people. There’s nothing in place if the plugs ever get pulled, everything is lost and like reddit, whose to say these owners won’t turn their website slowly into the cesspit reddit is?
Yeah, an instance owner of lemmy/kbin could theoretically pull the plug on their instance or enshitify it, but you can just switch to a different instance and keep accessing the content you were.

seeing as copilot says at the start of every conversation that it will be recorded, not to mention their massive (non)privacy policy and terms of use, this isn’t really news. this is just a fact
