I was never a “Mac” person. But I took the leap to escape windows with the Mac studio ultra. I use video and photo edit tools a lot. Used my existing peripheral devices. Expensive but the most silent and powerful machine I’ve ever owned. Software is my only complaint at times but I’ll live with it. I’ll definitely continue down M series for my main device.
In context of the larger thread, I need to figure out how to get graphene on my current phone. I nerfed the AI crap Samsung was forcing on me. But who knows if I got everything. I’ll assume I didn’t. Fdroid or graphene… That’s my summer project.

Very handy in hotel room mattress as well, for light, not heavy, play. Love that you responded in earnest btw. I hear it’s important to be earnest.

🤣🤣🤣
I’m sure it was very real moment for you. I hope, therefore, that it wasn’t too cruel of me to laugh very loudly at the whole situation. Kids are… Special.

I’m in the US. I’ve stopped getting stuff made in the red states (sadly Evan Williams that I love as well). Cut off Amazon and Target. The list is huge. It’s a process unfortunately. But I’m buying Canadian where I can. Especially that sweet syrup. Love you guys.

Absolutely take paternity. Why wouldn’t you?

Morrigan. You shall forever rule my heart. RIP.
Seriously though. Fuck EA.

The Simpsons have not been wrong yet…

I very much love the Bluesky block. Admittedly I am not there much, but still.

The whole internet loves Milkshake Duck, a lovely duck that drinks milkshakes! 5 seconds later We regret to inform you the duck is racist
Yeah everything else tracked. But they bung the last bullet.

Gold made me think of this forgotten greentext.

Grew up in Asia. The less fancy one. Used to go buy my Dad cigarettes from across the street and toss out the filters when I was like 8 lol.
*He’s been smoke free for over 22 years. The amount of disinformation from Big tobacco, at least where I grew up, was insane. He is a very educated man and still… Cigarette was a status symbol, symbol of sophistication, when he was growing up.
If I’m being honest, it looks like a badly kept hotel room.
Ha. Poo poo point is a good hike. No relevance but given the community, I said it.

Anecdotal share here. I know very few hiring managers that expect candidates to fit 100%, heck 80% even, of a posting. Those that do aren’t ones I would ever want to work for.
I look for 3 things. And that’s not a hard and fast rule or anything. Aptitude, motivation and culture fit. I also look to my peers and larger team for their thoughts along these points.
People (pleasantly) surprise you. My last best hire (I moved to away from direct line management in my new gig) was working at their local Walmart for a year after a tough layoff from a pre sales role. I thought I would get more push back but everyone including my then boss, were like yeah! They just needs another opportunity.
And for what it’s worth, they were a great culture fit and figured the rest out along the way.
White tie… It’s over 9000!!
Why do you want the army in charge of the boat people?
