As I understand it, cryptocurrency funnily enough works awfully as a means of transaction, because the amount of processing power required to make transactions is ridiculously high.

If being attracted to buff women makes you gay, then gender is not as simple as this twitter gremlin probably believes it to be. But they probably don’t want to think about that too much.

I could imagine immigrant communities being a factor as well. I think there’s a wide range of English proficiency among people who are born abroad (at least that’s my impression from speaking to people studying Swedish). Given that we have a bit more immigration than Norway, that could definitely be a deciding factor.
(Maybe I’m just grasping at straws. Don’t wanna be losing to Norway, right?)

I feel like the biggest pedant here, but it won’t care because it’s an LLM. Worth reiterating that they’re just word processing programs, not some thinking AI.

Cool, TIL it’s called pica. My grandma apparently had that as she was pregnant with my mom, she would eat pieces of mortar that had fallen off of buildings…

“FreightWaves is the most trusted provider of global supply chain market intelligence. Our high-frequency price, demand, and capacity data and analysis allow our customers to benchmark, analyze, monitor and forecast the global physical economy.”
Ironic. Although I guess their data wouldn’t be very good at analyzing someone picking up the economy, turning it upside down and giving it a good shake.

Your old classmates who flunked during the last two years probably didn’t post about it on social media. It’s not reflective of reality, just all curation.
Trust me, you’re doing fine. My bachelor took five years to finish, and plenty of people I’ve talked to have had similar situations.
If you can’t Stockholm your way into it, you might wanna make it a bit Sweder (i’m so sorry)

I would question your maths, but the rest doesn’t sound all that bad.
Couldn’t help thinking of this sketch… https://youtube.com/watch?v=alwARbVmWjQ
Thanks for the heads up, seems like it might stop functioning properly in the future according to posts on the Sync community. Guess I’ll look around for some alternative in case that happens.
I was on Sync for Reddit before going here, and checked out Lemmy as the devs switched platform. So the joke’s on them, my UX is basically identical.
That said, sucks that people shy away because of complexity.

I love that the term glottal stop is a perfect example of a glottal stop.

Big same. I really like Firefox on mobile for the addons (mostly Consent-o-matic, hate cookie popups), but I still mostly use Adblock Browser because of the tab groups. The convenience really wins me over, sadly.
I just read a book called Lost in School by Ross Greene that proposes teaching emotional and behavioral skills like regulating your emotions in school. The idea is that it will lead indirect positive effects on things like scholastic results, aside from the direct benefits. It’s without a doubt the best course literature I’ve read.
