You don’t need a clever algorithm for #3. You’ll likely only have 4-5 potential targets. You can brute force that in reasonable time.

4·3 years agoArk Nova - I just had very bad starting cards and couldn’t mitigate it, so I was doomed to be behind the whole game. Seriously with that big number of cards you can just get very unlucky and have no good combo available. It’s too much chance in this game, but I might just be more of an Euro game fan…

Gaming@beehaw.org•What type of game do you want to play that doesn't really exist?
2·3 years agoI always wait for a game where you manage a remote Starbase and the main part is to put together Spaceships out of parts made by yourself or salvaged from fights. So you repair and build them out of a limited amount of parts and assign them to your pilots, give them patrols or mining missions etc.

Take a look at Dead Reckoning and Edge of Darkness. Both combine deckbuilding with other aspects. Also notable: Cubitos and Heat

Spirit Island is really good as you can adjust the difficulty and it’s always different Stars of Akarios if you want a Gloomhaven Light Experience with some 7th Continent sprinkled in.
