I’ve been thinking about how dope this whole ai assistant could’ve been if big tech ghouls weren’t force feeding it to us.

Imagine alternative timeline where nerds coding chatty AI in their spare time. Yeah its junky and sounds like a kawaii version of Microsoft Sam, but check how many anime facts it knows, how it can hotseat dwarf fortress while gleefully narrating goblin executions, and how you duct taped a camera to a cat toy and Whiskers was going absolutely berserk on it.

I really liked pebble’s weird lcd/e-paper/whatever display, ideal for a watch that’s not trying to replace a phone (not sure if its basically the same as other open source watches, looks different on video tho).

What happens to future-me is kinda irrelevant (and also depends on how time travel works). The past me is being affected by events they did not do or know about (through future me). The line doesn’t go backwards.

In real life you have a continuous line from past to future me, I include all my previous experiencs. Most people would agree that makes it OK for future-me to bear consequences of past-me decisions.

Time travel breaks the logic and makes past-me a subject of decisions of future-me. Which is fucked up and does not count as consent imo.

this comic isn’t trying to change the system, or even point it out - it’s a cheap shot designed to make you feel satisfied in recogbising how screwed up things are.

I’m not sure how you got that and how is this satisfying to anyone, its clearly pointing it out how the system is fucked up.

And a bunch of action links under the comic would be nice, though I’m sure after looking at it you remembered on your own you’ve yet to donate/phone a congressmen/send some anthrax this season. Takes all kinds 🌠
