I usually see that on subreddits with LGBT focused content.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google’s Bard AI can now access Gmail, Drive, Docs, and moreEnglish
546·2 years agoCan’t wait for bard to join the google graveyard with stadia once the ai fad passes!
Mori said he would only write what he remembers Miura told him. It sound like he wants to try to finish the story without adding anything more to it. I really hope it’s good.

Meta (lemm.ee)@lemm.ee•Opinions wanted: defederating with reddit repost bot instances
11·3 years agoI’m at the point where I think all bot accounts need to just be banned from Lemmy. If we’re trying to build engagement, a constant stream of reposts or a straight up rss feed is not helping.
This could be me lol
It is funny to be lost where you have cell service though.

Android@lemdro.id•Why is text selection such a broken mess on so many websites? Why does this have to be such a hassle??English
28·3 years agoI think it’s a pixel thing, but I get around this by going into the app background thing then press “select” so the phone can treat the screen as an image with text and just list out the text without any website or browser shenanigans interfering.
This feels like me, especially when I have six different splits in a full screen terminal screen between vim and tmux and someone asks how I’m doing that.

Memes@sopuli.xyz•Infinity for reddit will stop working on August 30th. Now is the time to lemmy to continue to shineEnglish
31·3 years agoSo for the subscription cost you get to keep using infinity on reddit and see no ads? Also, not being able to see posts marked nsfw is missing out on a lot (I’m not referring to porn) so you’re stuck using the default app anyway so I don’t understand why the dev is pushing forward with it outside of maybe they see it as a passive income stream.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Value aside, do people actually like gold-looking things?English
1·3 years agoGold things (jewelry) usually go well with warm colored clothes, think red, pink, orange, etc.
Silver jewelry is better suited for when you’re wearing cool colored clothes.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some downsides of software being federated?
171·3 years agoFrom running multiple accounts across multiple instances, I’ve found that each instance feels like a separate forum of posts. Sure some of the big ones federate with each other, but that still doesn’t lead to being able to see the same federated content when you log into infosec.pub or lemmy.world. I think a lot of the differences in content lie with which instances federate with which other instances.
Old meme I’m sure, would be funnier in 2020
And just like regular democracy, the owners will show up last second to put their finger on the scale 😞

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK: Browsing "ALL" at work might get you pulled into an office, even with NSFW off.
18·3 years agoDon’t use company computers for personal stuff, it all gets logged and can be used against you at the very least as evidence that you weren’t working come performance reviews.

I’ve been amazed at how goofy these apple goggles look juxtaposed with how excited rich nerds are to hoover up new a new apple toy and tech personalities are to talk about a new apple product.

Technology@lemmy.world•Voice actors denounce exploitative AI at Comic-ConEnglish
3·3 years agoTo be fair that’s how I learn too! I read what others have written, watch was others do, and generally take knowledge that other people have found, experienced, or learned from other folks themselves. Also I used to never leave my room and didn’t experience life either lol.
Anyway, it’s rare that I can sit down and poke and prod something or some subject to learn and research on my own something new, only to find that hundreds of other people have already figured that out and I just reinvented the wheel.
I think what you were trying to get at is usually referred to the concept of the Chinese room.

Regardless, the concern for me hasn’t been that LLMs can’t replace humans, it’s that they can replace writers, voice actors, extras, and programmers. (Software engineers just see AI as a new tool for the toolbox, but that’s a tangent I’m not getting into here) replacing the creatives that make entertainment is largely concerning in that like you said, the LLMs just regurgitate content that was fed into the model and new creative works can’t be created with it.
The corporations that make money on the creatives love these new AIs as a way to cut costs. I think there is going to be an influx of cheap scripts created for sitcoms, children’s shows, and popcorn summer movies and there isn’t much anyone can do other than boycott the content.
It’s kind of scary knowing this could shut out new writers and actors from the industry as their market effectively shrinks. Though I’m hoping that people will recognize the cheap junk food level content created by LLMs and stop consuming it in favor of content written and acted by humans.
Luckily, the big name celebrities can’t be replaced by LLM anytime soon, but I’m sure the scripts for the superhero movies will have acts largely written by LLMs soon. I also expect something like the Simpsons to be entirely AI generated and voice acted. They have over 30 years of content to feed into the model and the show is already known for regurgitating its own jokes, stories and content.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

Skeptic@lemmy.world•TikTok Myth of the Week: Borax Is Good to DrinkEnglish
8·3 years agoDon’t know but you could say the same thing about face book or most of the internet. What scares me is how much this misinformation is weaponized successfully. It’s especially scary in cases like Tiktok where it’s used heavily by tweens.

This sounds like some Steins Gate shenanigans where Steve gets hit by a car an hour later followed by a montage of Chad trying to save Steve from various events.
Would watch while crying
