I have a wireguard server on my opnsense router. My phone and my wifes phone is permanently connected, doesnt matter if we are on home wifi or not, we just leave it on. Very basic, very stable.

My daily driver is a t450s running Fedora Kinoite. It’s great, all working fine, but browsing is getting a bit heavy on it, and battery life is less than an hour, so it’s mostly used stationary. Thinking of upgrading to a T14 G3.

Yeah, I seem to be mistaken and you are right, -25 is accurate for heat pumps for room heating. But the Nibe F110 is a heat pump water heater that works down to -10C, and Indol have a few models that says down to -12C. Still quite good!

You can also connect it through the wall so that it uses outside air for its energy. Modern heat pump technology is so good it can remain effective all the way down to -25C.

In Sweden, heat pumps are the standard for new housing and a LOT of older houses get converted. It’s totally normal. Either geothermal, exhaust air, air/water or air/air, almost all smaller houses have one of them. The exhaust air one is especially interesting becouse it’s also a ventilation system. Being cheaper than geothermal, many house builders go for them.
