Indeed it is. I’ve said before in other posts that it’s insane how you can’t watch local sports without a cable plan unless you watch the NFL. And the NFL is moving in that direction too though the only positive is that if the team is in your local market for the time being you can still see it on broadcast TV unlike the MLB. For me at least I’m not incentivized to pay for every subscription service to get access to games. Nor am I going to pay that insane $80 a month Hulu w/ TV, Sling, etc bullshit that’s just cable TV but streamed.

If I didn’t live in the market of one of the teams (ie it wasn’t on broadcast tv for me) I wouldn’t be paying for Netflix to watch the NFL today. In which case I’d watch the NBA instead. Personally the Christmas NFL games feel pointless. Like it’s obviously just NFL greed (they’re getting a bundle from Netflix) and so far it’s nothing impressive imo.

You have to be huffing some major copium if you think he’s going to help disabled people make more money. He helped prevent (via one of his appointed judged) people getting overtime pay if you make more than $30k. Plus Project 2025 calls for stripping disability and other protections from individuals with disabilities. So no he isn’t going to do anything for the disabled community except make our lives worse.

Reanimation is soooo good. Still have my original copy of Hybrid Theory and it’s great, but the edits on Reanimation just work really well. Meteora is good though their constant experimentation can make some stinkers.

We’re definitely fucked. The media has done a bang up job of protecting Trump while pushing fascist talking points to make Biden look bad. Dems don’t have a candidate that would rally the base. Maybe Newsom but I doubt it. Especially this late.

Yeah that’s pretty ridiculous. In the KC market the Royals (MLB) are only on Fox Sports (in some like KC specific package), Chiefs are on broadcast tv, Sporting (MLS) is only on Apple TV I think now. We have no NHL or NBA team but those are all on various cable channels and/or ESPN plus.

More and more stuff is forced onto cable (like almost all of March Madness was only on cable tv). And of course all the stuff split out onto streaming stuff. It’s such a shitshow and only getting worse.

In the Kansas City market you get one game a week and it’s a random game on Saturdays. Not really interested in the MLB but it’s so ridiculous to me that if I was I’d have to get like 3 different subscriptions. But we don’t get anything but golf, nascar, and NFL in this market on TV. And the rare NBA game around Christmas and then some of the finals stuff.

Have to make it impossible to watch like MLB, MLS, NHL or NBA.

The TV thing was something I mentioned to my mom. Like it’s really hard to give a shit about the Royals, or baseball in general, because you can’t watch any games without some crazy cable package. Add in that the Royals are trash most of the time and it’s an even harder sell.

The Chiefs are a solid element and the TV part helps a lot. Of course winning helps a lot too. Because I remember the bad years but they were still at least on TV (usually).

I’d never watch something you’re not into. It’s just miserable to force yourself to watch a show you don’t like. Juat because you read a manga doesn’t mean you should or need to watch its anime.

To help with smell in the washer we keep the liquid soap tray open after we finish using it. And leave the lid open most of the time. It seems to keep humidity down and the smell went away almost instantly.

Feels very far right psy-op focused honestly. These memes all started popping up as soon as Trump and co started railing against her. Sure she has made comments about using jets and then does the opposite, but like it’s obviously going to happen. Notice these same people don’t talk about musks rampent jet usage. Or other celebrities. But again soon as the far right starts going after Swift we get inundated in these swift jet memes.

Sure someone could bring in a knife and stab people. But the culture around guns (toxic masculinity, using violence as a means to win an argument, etc) are all problems. And at this point the guns are definitely the main problem. We can look at celebrations in other locales and the rates of violence are lower. And most other ‘first world countries’ have stricter rules/regulations on firearms. Trying to act like guns are part of the problem is just burying ones head in the sand. Sure other factors play into the violence, but when you can easily get a firearm and wish to hurt others it’s a lot easier than pulling out a kitchen knife.

That’s my question too. The cops keep talking about how they had 800~ various law enforcement individuals on hand and it still happened. Guns are a blight. Like this was a huge day for KC and the weather is beautiful, but now it’s just another shooting incident.
