That is a very simple summary that does not convey any of the actual horror (body, psychological, and jump scares) that occurs in DS. Reading the plot will spoil the twists, but is not the same as playing the game and reading thru the in-game journals, experiencing the cut scenes, the ultra vigilance the game instills, or the aura of dread from every corner of the ship as you walk thru it.

Games@lemmy.world•Tyranny: Recommended starting character with a mind to story, not ease of combat?English
6·5 months agoGiven how the story progresses and what ends up happening story wise, a mage/wizard character is probably the “best story” choice as it most accurately aligns with what drives the story.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•I just started caring about my own privacy. What apps should i get rid of, why and what can i replace it with?
30·2 years agoOne thing I don’t see any one mention in the comments, is that you should start paying attention to the “Data linked to you” section in the appstore. As an example here’s WhatsApp and Signal:

Granted that does mean you are relying on the developer and Apple to not be deceptive, but it’s better than nothing and a good place to start.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Unveiling the xz Utils Backdoor which deliberately opens our SSH connections for RCAs
3·2 years agoArch put out a statement saying users should update to a non infected binary even though it doesn’t appear to affect Arch https://archlinux.org/news/the-xz-package-has-been-backdoored/
However, out of an abundance of caution, we advise users to remove the malicious code from their system by upgrading either way. This is because other yet-to-be discovered methods to exploit the backdoor could exist.

Is that really WinAmp you’re running there? How did you get that working, please share!
